WHO IS SOSA?
Growing up all along the east coast from Washington D.C to Baltimore to NYC and finally settling in New Jersey at the age of 9, Sosa is what you think of when you think of the East Coast. When you see this 25 year old half Black, half Puerto Rican you can tell that Jersey blood and East Coast swag runs through Sosa when you hear his lyrics, and check him in his white tee, omavi jeans and timbs ( WHUT UP CUTTY!), or three piece suits. Growing up Sosa was influenced by a number of artist who he considers to be some of the all time greats. Artist such as the Notorious B.I.G., LL Cool J, Naughty by Nature, Red Man, Wu- Tang Clan, Tupac Shakur , just to name a few, helped Sosa in setting his foundation for some of the most prolific, real, and entertaining music to hit the scene in a while. Sosa prides himself on having multiple flows, song topics as well as the ability to seamlessly crossover into other genres of music. To him music is life, and his life has been filled with everything from love, to violence, revolutionary involvement and beyond. Growing up in New Jersey Sosa has been exposed to and lived through and incredible amount of highs and lows. This makes for a roller coaster ride of emotion and high energy whether your listening to his mix tape, watching his videos or catching him on the radio. In 2006 Sosa teamed up with label mate and co-owner Cutty Montana and Tom McKeown to form Kings of Jerusalem Records. Their intent is to make Kings of Jerusalem the first real major label to come out of the state of New Jersey. Though major labels have sought after these two emcees heavily, after experiencing less than favorable treatment and shady contract poposals from multiple labels Cutty and Sosa felt as though it was time for JERSEY TO STAND UP and push all the talent we have coming from within. For to long artist from this great state have been overshadowed by those of the two great cities over the bridges. Sosa has worked with various artist in the Tri-State area as both his buzz and the label continue to grow. His music has already begun spinning on the radio, most recently in Wilmington, DE where he teamed up with SHADOW ENTERTAINMENTS O’flame to produce two club bangers. Sosa’s affiliations have helped bring him to the forefront of the New Jersey hip-hop scene, most notably working with up and coming producer and film director Tom McKeown of Profici Productions. This connection has been responsible for creating the new age of mix tape with hard hitting mix tape videos such as “Fi Skeeze†and “ Feds is Knockinâ€. This talented combination of artist provides the perfect blend of energy that is helping to revolutionize the game as we know it. Sosa along with his Kings of Jerusalem label mates are looking to make noise and bring real east coast music back to the scene and be among the elite artist putting Jersey on the map for good!
