About Me

two major projects:
Bing Bong and Root of the Sick
*********************************
Bing Bong makes portable beer pong tables and accessories and is the official table of the World Series of Beer Pong . We just got back from this year’s World Series in Nevada where there were about 250 teams competing for a $20,000 grand prize. We had about 50 of our tables being played on at the event and it was a great time.

Root of the Sick is the band that I play in. We formed in mid-2004 and just released our first CD, “Undulation”. You can hear 4 tracks from that disc on our myspace page. The recording was done almost completely live with minimal over-dubs and edits. We wanted to preserve the live feel and energy of the songs, and 2 of the 11 tracks on the CD were done on the first take. Hopefully, we’ll get to hit the road soon and spread our music even further.

As I work to develop my major projects, I also work a full time job at a non-profit organization in Philadelphia called American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) . AFSC is a Nobel Peace Prize winning Quaker organization founded in 1917 that focuses on peace building, human and civil rights, and economic justice – all of which are intimately tied together.

I live in Center City Philadelphia with my girlfriend Kate.
For inspiration and grounding:
"This is what the world honors: wealth, eminence, long life, a good name. This is what the world finds happiness in: a life of ease, rich food, fine clothes, beatiful sights, sweet sounds. This is what it looks down on: poverty, meanness, early death, a bad name. This is what it finds bitter: a life that knows no rest, a mouth that gets no rich food, no fine clothes for the body, no beautiful sights for the eye, no sweet sounds for the ear.
People who can't get these things fret a great deal and are afraid - this is a stupid way to treat the body. People who are rich wear themselves out rushing around on business, piling up more wealth than they could ever use - this is a superficial way to treat the body. People who are eminent spend night and day scheming and wondering if they are doing right - this is a shoddy way to treat the body. Man lives his life in company with worry, and if he lives a long while, till he's dull and doddering, then he has spent that much time worrying instead of dying, a bitter lot indeed! This is a callous way to treat the body."
"He who dreams of drinking wine may weep when morning comes; he who dreams of weeping may in the morning to off to work. While he is dreaming he does not know it is a dream, and in his dream he may even try to interpret a dream. Only after he wakes does he know it was a dream. And someday there will be a great awakening when we know that this is all a great dream. Yet the stupid believe they are awake, busily and brightly assuming they understand things, calling this man ruler, that one slave - how dense! You and the world must all be dreaming! And when I say you are dreaming, I am dreaming too. Words like these may be called bullshit. Yet, after ten thousand years, a great sage may appear who will know their meaning, and it will be as though he appeared with astonishing speed"
