Punk/Garage Rockers That Ain't Dead Yet!!!

About Me

In Approximately 1993, two disgruntled youths placed and ad for a hard-hitting rock & roll drummer. Only one person answered the call. Now three dirtballs strong, they dubbed themselves Roadapple. They made fast aggressive music that instantly attracted confused punk-rock youths who found themselves enamored by the angst expressed by the trio. Exploits included lawlessness, debauchery, and several songs about booze--including the local hit "Teenage Alchoholic," which painted an all-to-true account of teenage drunkenness...after all, it was written by a couple of guys who spent their days collecting cans and panhandling to purchase their next 12-pack of cheap generic beer. After turning twenty, they could no longer sing the chorus, "I'm a teenage alcoholic." They went on to play more introspective songs, like "Last Call," "Beginnings," and "Gonner" (among many, many others) before calling it quits in 2002. Although the group remains best friends to this day, society has forced them into blue-collar slavery. VAMP is guitarist Jeff Hancock and bassist Jon Kurtz's escape from the mundane dollar driven existence which keeps "a roof over their head, and food on the table." It's what happens when a couple of garage-rockers lay down their dreams, and yet have more music to offer. The first album, "Elixir of Life," is dedicated entirely to Roadapple drummer Waleed Rashidi. The next album is in production and is an attempt to...well, keep on rockin!!

Band Members: (Jeff Hancock: Vocals, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, keyboards, bass). (Jon Kurtz: Bass, keyboards, vocals, guitars). (Drums: Drums).
Influences: Hmmm...this band is influenced by anything musical. Most obviously, dirty garage rock. Sounds Like: We let the songs write themselves. Rock-tempo punk with other instruments, and interesting changes. Just listen, we're making music that we don't hear anywhere else...if you get it, thanks...if not, kick rocks.layout made by: Awesome Layouts by Katie -
