Rosa Mundi aka Rosamund Heathcote started writing music at the ripe old age of 12, she had been playing classical piano from the age of 8 and grew up on a mixture of jazz, blues, soul, ska, and a little bit of 80's electro.
After studying classical music at school and college she wanted to experiment with the world of sampling and sound design, she did a ND in Music Technology at Northbrook College in her home town of Worthing, West Sussex, and then did a Bachelor of Arts in Music Production at Leeds College of Music earlier this year. Doing her dissertation on writing a modern electronic soundtrack to the the Chaplin film 'Modern Times'.
She did work experience at two of her favourite record labels in her summer holidays, doing 3 summers at Ninjatune and last summer at Tru-Thoughts / Zebra Traffic Records these experiences not only taught her the ins and outs of working for an independant record label, but also taught her the value of doing what you love and keeping your integrity whether you earn money or not.
She now resides in Brighton, East Sussex and continues to write tracks in her spare time, in her spare room. Always hoping the next track is better than the last. She also finds it very strange to talk about herself in the 3rd person, but apparently its more professional-like innit.I hope you enjoy listening.Roz x
