About Me

MyGen Profile Generator Profile GeneratorI have two sons whom I enjoy - Joe lives with me, and James lives with his Mother in Ohio. Joe's friend Byron has lived with us for a couple years and I enjoy his company - He's also a great conversationalist. I have three dogs and a cat that bring me great enjoyment on a daily basis. I enjoy my Job, friends, and family. I have traveled extensively (still do). I have vacationed in Paris, Vienna, Milan, Venice, Rome, Munich, Frankfort, Madrid, London, Aruba, St Croix, San Juan, Cancuun, and I know of many more places that I intend to visit (incl: India, Africa and Tibet). I enjoy observing the great international interaction of cultures that is just beginning to gear up. I enjoy refurbishing my home and plan to finish it soon and may sell or rent it. Who knows where I will head to next. I have lived in OH, LA, SC, NC, FL, and now in VA. I spend a lot of time at the beach especially Cape Hatteras in the off-season. I enjoy camping, hiking and just about anything that is outdoors. My favorite outdoors activity is Water Skiing. I have attended Bible College followed by a short stay in Seminary (I decided I could not honestly persue that lifestyle) I was married for 7 years and have been divorced for 16 years. My longest Relationship was with Steve and lasted 9 years. It was a wonderful experience for the most part. We are still very close and travel together. I am now single and have been (for the most part) almost 5 years. I am learning to trust the natural flow of my life. I neither resist opportunities nor do I force them. I enjoy personal time in meditation. My home is the most peaceful place on the planet. I live from the Center that is within me. I have many wonderful friends that do the same.Home | Browse | Search | Invite | Film | Mail | Blog | Favorites | Forum | Groups | Events | Videos | Music | Comedy | Classifieds

My Interests

....What happened to the civilization of Easter Island (population: 30,000)? ...oh, and where are all the trees? Talk about Faith and "Family Values" - They ate each other in the end. Does your Faith leave you hungry? When Polynesian explorers first arrived on tiny, isolated Easter Island arround AD 400, they found a subtropical paradise of forests, animals, and fertile volcanic soil. Enormous palm trees eighty feet tall and six feet in dinameter towered over a lush layer of woody bushes, shrubs, herbs, ferns, grasses, and fantastic tree daisies. Among the diverse wildlife were countless nesting seabirds ready for the stew pot: petrels, albatrosses, fulmars, terns, frigate birds, and prions. This "environmental abundance" eventually sustained a society of up to thirty thousand people so advanced they produced hundreds of enormous stone statues that centuries later still inspire awe worldwide. But by 1722, when the first European explorers arrived, the island was lunar landscape of destroyed soils and treeless contours. Dozens of native trees and every last native land bird had become extinct on the island. The native animals included nothing larger than insects. There were no bats, lizards, or even snails on the island. And the human population had plummeted from thirty thousand to just two thousand souls lacking enough wood even for cooking fires. They burned mostly grasses to prepare a menue that included each other. They had become cannibals. What happened? The Easter Islanders cut down every last tree on their island, that's what happened. One by one the trees fell until there were no more, and so the people starved. The giant palm trees had provided edible nuts and oil. More important, from the enormous palm trunks the islanders had carved giant sea-faring canoes. These canoes were used to harpoon the staple of their diet: dolphins. But when the trees disappeared so did the canoes and, by extension, the critical dolphin meat. Deforestation also triggered catastrophic soil erosion, making productive, agriculture impossible. Island statuettes from the later years tell the story, showing people with sunken cheeks and exposed ribs. Mike Tidwell - The Ravaging TideWhat Do YOU Believe? I'd like to meet:

I am looking for someone that I can enjoy life with. Someone who can hold me where I am and who will allow me to do the same for them. I desire to continue to grow and make my own choices. I desire someone that is able to be responsible for their own personal growth but who would appreciate my loveing support. At the same time I would like to think that I could enjoy often conversation - I talk alot at times! Because I am active, My Life Partner (or whatever we would choose to call each other) will need to be active as well. The outdoors calls to me so this person will be spending quite a lot of time outdoors as well perhaps. I enjoy time with myself and therefore live best with someone who enjoys their own company. I do not take it personal when others need space as I know how that feels and need it regularly myself. Age is not as important as character qualities. I am looking for someone who is romantic and would hope that we could sleep in one day a week (9 AM or so) (I'm laughing now!). (I will have to come back and fine tune this in the future). I just want it all: Enjoyable Activity, Outdoors, Intimacy, Romance, Mutual Honor, Personal Space, Vacations, Etc. I have no intention of settling for less. Thanks for checking me out.

Thanks for the adds, RodEric
