My Roles In Life
Brother: This is one of the most important roles in my life. Though I don't delegate as much time to being there for my sister and helping her as I could or would like to, I realize that my absence is a product of two busy lives(my sister’s and mine). Still I recognize the need for more investment in this area.
Son: Another very important role in my life is that of a sun. I feel like I make my parents proud by my accomplishments and my desire to further accomplish. I am lacking in the areas of time and involvement in there lives. Again the product of the collective making, however I desire to spend more time with each of them doing the things they like to do. My parents love to fish and camp, cook and watch movies as a group. These areas are not of great interest to me personally, but I realize it is better to care about there interests as much as I care about them.
Family Member: For practical reasons I cannot list my roles as a family member one by one. However I can generalize. It is obvious to me that I do not spend enough time with family. We try... more in the summer to get together and have fun and for the most part it keeps us all in good relations. The real concern that I have in family un involvement is with my family in Ohio; my Gramma's, Aunt, Uncle and all of my wonderful cousins. My family, near and far, likely do not understand how much I care about them, love them and appreciate them. They all do very much for me direct and indirect.
Friend: My friends are dear to me; I care about them deeply and for the most part cannot see myself without them. Some are more like family and would fit in the above category as well. I feel like some of my friends are drifting away and it saddens me. I realize that I can control this and vow to make the changes I can to keep my friends close.
Student: I am a student of J.S.R. community college on a two year degree program, so far maintaining a 4.0 GPA. It becomes increasingly harder to keep up as graduation nears but I feel there is a good chance I can maintain degree of excellence until the end. But this is not only what I mean when I say I am a student. I am a student of experience and continual evolution. Each day, with each opportunity, I seek to learn all that I can. I am also a student of my mission statement; it is a list of things I value and hold true to all situations. With conscious effort I will someday imbed them deep within my character (i.e. not letting my emotions control my decisions).
Employee: I am and employee of Pence Collision Center. My experience’s as an employee and my work in general give me great satisfaction and a strong feeling of accomplishment. Though at times I feel held back; I find it important to realize that the feeling is within me, and therefore of my own making and under my control.
Self Aware Individual: I recognize my own involvement in my life and my personal ability to control my reactions. I strongly believe that individuals are a product of there own making and not of there environment. Our environment causes us to “react,†if we react, then we are allowing our environment to define us. Never the less this is our choice, our own making. We can choose, we choose to choose, or we choose to react.
