Welcome to my world!I feel as if I have so much to say yet nothing to say at the same time. At 27 years old I have experienced my share of life's ups and downs and God willing I have many more years to go and a lot more experiences to endure. I made the decision at the end of 2006 that it was time for me to change my life's direction and in doing so one of the things I had to leave behind in 2006 was modelling. There comes a time in a person's life that they realize the dream they are chasing will never be and I came to that realization. For the most part I enjoyed my time in front of the camera, I learned a lot about myself and I grew as a person and a woman. I thank those who helped me on my journey and I even thank those that attempted to bring me down. It was a great ride but it was time to get off the bus and start another journey. 2007 is a new year and it is definitely brought about a new me. With all of that said let's move on to other things.ABOUT ME!As you can see from my profile my name is Solana Raye. Solana derives from the word Sol which means Sun in Spanish. I was born in Jamaica into a wonderful and loving family. I moved to Canada in 1989 and I have lived here ever since. I obtained a B.A. in psychology in 2001 from York University and have held various positions in the last 6 years. I currently hold the position of a recruitment consultant for one of the largest private staffing firms in Canada. I enjoy my position as I get the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and various backgrounds and to aide them in the achievement of their career goals. My personal career goal is to open my own business before I turn 30. I am fortunate enough that I have surrounded myself with those who are not only supportive but also equipped to aide me on my path to the realization of that goal. After achieving my own dreams of starting a successful business it is my intention to start an investment group for young black entrepreneurs to help them realize theirs. My aim is to reach the youth at the school level when they are more in need of guidance and an outlet for their creative potential. I am fortunate to have been blessed with a wonderful child who motivates and inspires me to achieve more than I ever thought possible. I pray I will be around to see her get to the point in her life where she can stand on her own without needing mommy to hold her hand. Although, I will have to be honest and tell you that day will probably be a sad day for me because she has been my raison d’être since her birth.
