In the Fall of 2006, October to be exact, two friends vowed to make a change for the better. Venus "Bishop" Stinson and Aaron "AJ" West decided to stop running the streets like they'd been doing for so long and give their lives to Christ, and they did. Shortly after making the change, they both wanted to continue to do music. Being that the two of them were part of a rap group known as FTL, they never wanted to stop using the gift of music that God had given them and use their special talents to spread the goodness of the Lord. So they came to an agreement and began a journey that would lead them straight to the kingdom of heaven.Bishop and AJ began to write and record gospel rap songs at a pace that even they did not know they could do it in. Within three weeks, they had already finished recording their first album. Now with one finished project under their belt, they now needed a name for themselves. Something that would not only represent the most high, but something that would also reflect the lifestyle that they both had lived and still somewhat live, just under different circumstances. After about two days of brainstorming, they had finally found a name that fit them like a glove, THUGZ 4 CHRIST. Why thugs for christ? Well, as Bishop puts it, "we both were thugs; smoking, drinking, and doing other crazy things. And we're still thugs, but now we're thugs for christ, and everything we do is to please him".Now that they had found a name and had a finished album, all they had to do now was began to promote themselves. Before they could set out to promote the album, God had sent someone to them. An Apostle, without hearing their music, invited them to perform at an event he and his wife was having. Not only did he invite them to perform at the event, but he also asked them to come on the radio with him to do an interview. Of course, not only needing the exposure, but also wanted to use the radio as a median to reach young people, this was their first chance to get their music played and speak of the goodness of God. That is exactly what they did. The performance was a success. Everyone that heard what they had loved it and wanted to hear more. During the radio interview, not only did they play their initial single, but they also played two other songs and the Apostle continued to play a song or two the following weeks after.Bishop and AJ both knew that God had something special for them. They still have not reached they're full potential just yet, but they're well on their way. The two of them are promoting and selling copies of the first album and have already started recording songs for their secong album. They both have kept their faith strong and know that God will soon open that door that needs to be opened. But for now, they continue to sell their music and proudly say, "I BET YOU CAN'T LISTEN JUST ONCE".
