A-bi-jah (Hebrew for "MyFather is Jahovah") was born into music as his father was a drummer with the Mystic Revelation of Rastafari. He began to practice his art by rehearsing and performing with his father's band, for awhile he took on the stage name "Quenchers" and voiced tracks with several international renowned deejay's.
Abijah's first hit single "Revelation" debuted at No. 6 on May 25,2001 and climbed to No 1 remaining in the Jamaican charts for 30 weeks. Abijah energetic stage performances have electrified audiences in the US, Europe, Japan and the Caribbean. He has recorded and released tracks with artists such as DJ Krush (Japan), Nadine Sutherland and Nadz.
Abijah's first album was self titled "Abijah" through VP Records on May 6, 2003 and comprises of 14 tracks, several of which received wide rotation in Jamaica, including his hit song "Revelation". To promote this album, he toured Europe in the summer of 2003 through 2004 where he performed at festivals in seven countries including Summer Jam (Germany), Rototom (Italy), Jamaica Sunrise (France) and Uzona (Spain). Back in the US, Abijah has graced his presences at San Francisco's Reggae In The Park, Sierra Nevada World Music Festival and Hopiland in Arizona. In 2005, Abijah has done more recordings for an upcoming album which will include artist such as American R&B artist Tevin Campbell and American female roots reggae artist Zema. Abijah remains to attract a wide varity of listeners. In March 2005 he debuted on the South Florida Reggae chart at ..9 with a cover version of Bob Marley's "Sun is Shinning". In the later part of 2005 Abijah made several stops in California, Boston and Seattle as well as Hopiland and at the Fort McDowell Orme Dam Celebration in November 2005. Abijah was also asked to speak and perform at Harvard University and at Oxford as well as doing several free shows at dozens of schools in Jamaica dubbing him as "The Ambassador of Peace".
