Ricky Thug* Born in Jamaica, straight from the streets of Kingston Franklin Town (Dun Kirk), and raised in the city of Brooklyn. Ricky Thug embedded a true love for Hip-Hop music, Break Dancing, and Rapping. Known as a foreigner in his own homeland, for bringing the latest fades to Jamaica. Such as, teaching fellow brethren the newest break dances, and hitting them how he began his quest to invent a new genre of music adding to a nation of true Hip-Hop lovers. While reciting rhymes in the cafeteria of Grady High School, "Marley Marl's” brother “DJ Jus” was one of the first to recognize "Ricky's" talent. He helped in forming the group known as "Lyrical Empire" (LE) which later then lead to the formation of the group called “Bakstabbaz” where they recorded several demos and won many local talent shows. In 1996 the group featured on Chuck D's debut single from the group Public Enemy "No, No, No" remix, featuring Blaza Blah, on Mercury Records. In the summer of 1997, Shiggy P. A/K/A Ricky Thug emerged to a soloist and landed a recording contract with Tommy Boy Records under the name “Contraband”. His single "Night to Remember", a Shalimar 70's remix hit number one in Hawaii, and hitting the top forty's chart in the U.S So you see! "Ricky" is no stranger to the game and the fans are screaming for this "Corporate Thug" to get down to business. His resume consist of his touring with different artist such as DMX at the Pepsi Arena in Dec 1998, Busta Rhymes on the "Smoking Grove" tour & other venues with other artist such as Damien Marley & "The Ghetto Youths", Lil' Zane, Bow Wow, and Lil' Romeo at The Scream Tour in 2002. Since then Ricky has been releasing his own mix tapes in the street since 1999 under the name “Shig Phlare”. Mix tapes such as “W.G.C” (World Global Control), “The Take Over” in 2001. “The Burn” in 2003, “Business Never Pleasure” in 2004, and shot his video self titled “Ricky Thug” 2005 which is has gotten spins on B.E.T Uncut & Public Access T.V such as GIN T.V, Bless Me Video, Sope’s Indie Heat, and It’s all Good T.V across the nation. He is keeping his name hot in the streets by promoting and marketing his own movement “Street Corporate” 06’ hosted by DJ Nino Carta from the Wu-Tang Clan, “Blocks to Stocks” with the mix tape entitled "Street Corporate", which is in stores now!! His flow is straight to the point doubled edged sword giving you a clear picture as he spits true lyrics. Whatever you may know him as, Sharp, Shiggy P., Shig Phlare, or Ricky Thug this business minded artist is resilient in both his talent for music creativity and corporate decision goals. Recently Ricky has landed a management contract with Las Vegas based OTS “Only the Strong” LLC IN 2006. In 2007 Street Corporate Records llc was founded by CEO J.R. Phidd A/K/A Ricky Thug.
