About Me
D. Chamberz
“…These rappers are all actors, how it seems 2 me/ I’m da hood Joe Clark try to lean on me.â€Much has been lamented about the dismal state of hip-hop. Who will rise up with something to say? Where will the next big thing come from? The answer is Coney Island, Brooklyn and his name is D. Chamberz. Brought into this world as Duval D. Chamberlin in Harlem Hospital, this 25-year old currently signed to Lanni D. Management/360 Entertainment is ready to explode on the scene with a truth that only someone who has lived the life he has can tell.
Winner of the F.E.D. Underground Award two years in a row, D. Chamberz has released the successful independent albums “Accepting No Apologies†(2004) and “More To Talk About†(2005) in the past two years. His current single “N.Y.C. (Dat Nigga)†is currently bubbling underground ready to detonate. Constantly on the grind, this talented artist has performed at many shows around the tri-state area including, but not limited to, Hot 97 Jones Beach ’05, Hot 97 Summer Jam ’04, a Drama Magazine Release Party Event, and Greek Fest ’05, as well as many clubs such as Pyramid, Speed, Sugar Shack, Empire Lounge, Club Deep, and Club City.
Growing up in Brooklyn obviously breeds a kindred connection to one of the greatest of all time, Notorious B.I.G. However, D. Chamberz cites DMX as one of the first artists who influenced him to follow the musical calling he felt tugging at his spirit for the past decade. Planning to sell 15 million copies of his own albums just like Dark Man X, D. CHamberz also intends to give back to the community in the same way DMX has done since hitting the scene. In the same way DMX brought up his “Ruff Ryders†unit, D. Chamberz is determined to make his own crew, “M.I.E.R.S. Family†another one of his future endeavors. As with many other hip-hop artists, D. Chamberz feels a deep connection to the “M.I.E.R.S. Family†collective and definitely wants to bring them to the forefront of this game after he gains a foothold himself.
Unlike many artists that are currently on the scene, he describes himself as a leader. Leadership is something lacking in today’s hip-hop and Chamberlin wants to rectify that. He has experienced the dark side of growing up in New York but he has successfully risen past his hardships and is eager to tell the story of his journey. He is a humble soul who values family and remains close to his relatives who are gratefully supportive of his chosen career.
It was around 15 years of age that Duval realized he held a knack for rapping and soon realized his talent to entertain as he battled friends and locals in order to hone his craft. Over ten years in the making, this star is ready to shine bright for the entire world to see. Following a long line of Brooklyn rap kings, D. Chamberz will finally make his mark in 2008. If there was a Brooklyn Rap Hall Fame, they would need to make space on the mantel for a future entry. D. Chamberz is here y’all. Act like you know. For further info, check out: www.whonextonline.com
