I was the original lead guitarist for Black Oak Arkansas. I played on the first 7 albums of which 3 went Gold and 1 went Platinum. We toured with bands such as the Eagles, Ozzie Osbourn,& Aerosmith. They played the original Cal-Jam in 1974 before 450,000 screaming fans. They had a top 40 hit "Jim Dandy to the Rescue". Black Oak was one of the first bands to use comedians as opening acts. Some were Steve Martin and Cheech & Chong. After a 50 city tour in 1971 as an opening act for a farewell tour with Iron Butterfly.
