About Me

Not until September of 2003 did I finally find myself. I finally feel comfortable in my own skin. I was always trying to please someone else, to do the right thing, to be what I was told I should be. But when I reached this time of "self-realization", it finally hit me, this is my life. I only get one shot at it and I want to make it mine! "My life is my song; I choose to dance with light, laughter and love." You will probably find out soon enough that I love quotes, famous or not! I have collected them since I was in junior high. I especially love inspirational quotes. The most important things in my life are my faith, my family, my friends and DANCING!!! There is a song by MercyMe called "I can only imagine". In that song, there is a part that goes "will I dance for you, Jesus or in awe of you be still?" Well, I have already told Him that I am going to dance! So I figured that I will try to get in as much practice as I can before that DAY! It just so happens to be rock/metal music that I get to dance to the most!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

First, and foremost, God. I want to thank Him for this life! Next, would have to be Jesus, to thank Him for dying on the cross for me. Lord knows, I'm a sinner! As for this life, I would like to meet people who have similar interests to mine as well as those who don't. The reason for this is that I believe it is good to have a circle of friends who are compatible with you but at the same time you also need those people in your life who will challenge you and help you grow by exposing you to different views, different ways of thinking.

Music:

I love all types of music...except hip hop, rap, today's country, and not really fond of jazz. My favorite music is 80's rock/metal. I am a true "wild child" when it comes to my music. I am actually quite reserved and quiet. But give me a rock/metal band, my girlfriends and a dance floor and you won't be talking to me for the rest of the night. Music is food for the soul...it is also exercise for the body! Music moves me in ways that nothing else in this life has yet. It can set my mood, it can bring me up, it can bring me down. But mostly it moves my soul. I am grateful for the gift of music, it amazes me when something beautiful is created by someone's voice. Although, I could list a thousand different groups on here, here are my TOP TEN. MERCY ME, for keeping me closer to God, QUEENSRYCHE for taking hold of the flame, DOKKEN for helping me break the chains, CINDERELLA I need a little shelter, EVANESCENSE for breathing me to life, NICKELBACK for figuring me out, JOURNEY for lovin', touchin', squeezin', SAVATAGE sleep,WHITESNAKE slow 'n easy in the still of the night, FOREIGNER make it fast, make it urgent, Honorable Mentions: CHICAGO you're a hard habit to break...

Movies:

Although I don't like tv, I simply adore movies. QUEEN OF THE DAMNED, FIRST KNIGHT, EVER AFTER, REVENGE, STAR WARS, THE LORD OF THE RINGS, VAN HELSING, UNDERWORLD, THE TERMINATOR (could be why I like a little song called "Out for Blood"), DESPERADO, THE MARK OF ZORRO, TOP GUN, to name a few! I am also an Elvis Presley fanatic. So it would have to be VIVA LAS VEGAS, BLUE HAWAII and CHANGE OF HABIT.

Television:

Do not watch much television. When I do find something I love to watch, I am very loyal.Silk Stalkings was one of my all time favorite tv shows, watched it from the very beginning when it was on "Crimetime after Primetime"! After Chris died I quit watching... Another "Crimetime" show was "Forever Night", although I didn't watch it every time, I didn't miss many episodes. It was to help me overcome my fear of "vampires". I used to have nightmares as a child about them, not anymore!Hate to admit it but I was also a "Dawson's Creek" fanatic! Watched every episode, from the very first one until the show ended.Hercules was another one of my all time favorite shows. Oooh, Kevin Sorbo! Need I say more...What every guy needs to watch is "Sex and the City". Girls really DO talk about all those things! Loved SJP as Carrie, I think I am most like her (I have that many pairs of shoes!), although I love KC as Samantha because she wasn't afraid to put it all out there! Absolutely hate soap operas, I think it gives people the totally wrong impression of how life should be and a total waste of my time!

Books:

I used to read A LOT, I could finish a 300 page book in 3-4 hours, but can no longer do that (ask me about it, I love to share). Tried listening to books on cd but it is just not the same! What I am working on now is Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life". Suppose to finish it in 40 days, but at least I am still working on it! Work in progress, like my life!
