If you organize Joe's songs in the right order, you'd know the story of his life. Reflective lyrics and minimalist, stripped-down music define his soulful mastery. Driven by the intensity and turbulence of life events, Joe's music shares a story guaranteed to make you feel.
Born Leslie Joe Koenig II in Houston, Texas, Joe was quickly learning the delinquent makings of a city kid before his dad swept him away to the rolling green hills of Concrete, Texas. Growing up on a farm, Joe learned passion and hard work from "solid gold" Leslie the First, who was always supportive of his son's artistic endeavors; from tearing a panel of sheetrock off a jobsite wall to preserve Joe's playful doodles, to lining up a gig at Hocheim Baptist Church every Sunday. Following the example set by his older brother Karl, talent and hard work earned Joe a scholarship to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a new home on the Central Coast of California.
Joe Koenig's musical endeavors began in late 1999 when he and his college roommates formed the rock band TORSION. In 2000
they released their first EP and amassed a cult following in San Luis Obispo. After a Texas Tour, three albums and a name change to SNAPHOOK, the group called it quits in 2004. In his hard rock days, Joe shared the stage with such bands as OZOMATLI, SUGARCULT, BUCKCHERRY, ELECTRACY, JOHNNY RAMONE and UNIDA.
Aching to fulfill his dream of producing his very own solo album, Joe joined the Central Coast music once again, but this time on his own terms. In 2006 Joe began performing his solo acoustic set from San Luis Obispo, California to Goliad, Texas and has since shared the stage with TOMMY ELSKES, BOB SCHNEIDER, DIRTY MARTINI and the legendary LEON RUSSELL.
