About Me

I am currently living in Kampala, Uganda. I am here to develop an AIDS Education Program that hopes to change sexual behavior not by the inpartation of information, but by conveying the value and worth that young people are to God. I am also will be doing a lot of government policy work in order to help get an orphanage and medical clinic functioning in Bwerenga District. Check out My Personal Blog or www.HopeVillageUganda.org" for more information
MINISTRY SCRIPTURE Jeremiah 1:9-10,
“God reached out, touched my mouth and said, ‘Look, I have put my words in your mouth. I have given you a job to do among the nations and governments. Your job is to pull up and tear down, take apart and demolish, and then start over, building and planting.”
Here is some more things about me!!!
I love music, especially live music. I love to travel...I've been to 15 countries. My greatest weakness is independence. I like my drinks iced, and my food extra hot. I value honesty. While I love to sleep, I am an insomniac. I bet, I'll get more done in a day then you will in a week. I'm a mover and a shaker. My goal is to make enough money so I can do help people for free. I love Happy Hour and good food. I value strength and respect strong people. I hate routine. I love staring at the stars under different skies. Currently, God is teaching me about intimacy and vulnerability. I love a good conversation. I think of life in terms of Seinfeld episodes. I think personality will only get you so far, but integrity and character will bring you through the tough times. I hate tea and starbucks, but love Stumptown coffee. I think globalization is God's new method to reaching the world. I love being an American. I hate waiting and do not think that patience is a virtue. I do nothing without consulting my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am serious, but I love to laugh and love people that make me laugh. My greatest fear is failure. I am fiercely loyal and I keep my friends for a lifetime. I love thinly cut cheese and am the Master of the Grilled Cheese sandwich. I actually like speaking in front of large groups of people. I will adopt kids one day. I hate people that waste my time... I only have one life to live. I love playing basketball regularly. My spare time is given to building the local church. People say I am smart, but really I just ask questions and pay attention to the answer. I hate repeating myself and people that don't listen. I think capitalism will bring the greatest amount wealth to the largest amount of people. I value education and learning. I love teaching, especially about government. I choose to be around passionate and visionary people, even though I can be a "how to" person. My biggest pet peeve is when the toilet paper is wrapped "under" instead of "over." I love my pillow....hmmm :)
LIFE SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowlege Him and He will direct your paths."

Television:

DVR has revolutionized the way I watch TV. I catch up on shows over the weekend. And good times watching 24 with the crew :)I watch LOST and THE OFFICE (aka - the FUNNIEST SHOW EVER). I rewatch each episode a couple times!

Books:

What wonderful worlds, words make. What wonderful ideas, words tell. Fact or Fiction, Fantasy or Biography, Government or God; There is no book I won't read. Currently, I am reading...

- "Cost of Discipleship" by Deitrich Bonheiffer
- Sermons by Charles Spurgeon and
- "The World is Flat" by Thomas Freidman

Nothing impresses me or makes me think more then any book by CS Lewis . And the only series I have read more than once is Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" Trilogy - I am in awe of "sub-creation" - forever making me a Fantasy book lover.

Heroes:

He will." It may not be today,
That God Himself shall wipe our tears away,
Nor, hope deferred, may it be yet tomorrow
He'll take away our cup of earthly sorrow;
But, precious promise, He has said He will,
If we but trust Him fully - and be still.
- Claudius L. Chilton

No one ever would have crossed the ocean if he could have gotten off the ship in the storm.
