In June of 1983 a baby girl by the name of Reka Janel was born. Soon after, her parents (Rickie and Rosalyn) realized Reka carried a very natural spot light every where she went. Talking and performing to anyone who would listen. Reka had no idea what "inhibition" meant all she wanted to do was make people smile. This electric, personable ball of energy landed her in dance class at a very young age. Her mother hoped it would alleviate most of the energy Reka had but little did she know she was planting the seed that would land her on the career path she travels today.

Fast forward to Junior High School, where she hung up her dance shoes for “pom poms”. It was still performing in the eyes of this young lady! She continued her pleated skirt wearing, pom pom carrying, cheery attitude to Kent Meridian High School. Being a cheerleader also made her a popular leader which like performing came very natural. In High School she was involved in many leadership activities and had many opportunities waiting for her upon graduation. However, it wasn't until Jr. Year of High School that Reka thought she really knew what she wanted to do. After a field trip to Cornish College of the Arts her heart was set on being the next “Halle Berry”. No surprise to her parents and peers, Reka went for it. Auditioned and entered the life of a performing arts college student. Yet, deep down something was missing.

So, after the green light from her parents Reka decided to leave Cornish after only one year, packed her bags and headed to NY. JUST for a summer program at "The School for Film and Television", where she graduated with straight A’s. Her next move was enrolling in the prestigious Howard University located in Washington D.C. Where names such as Sean "Diddy" Combs, Debbie Allen and Phylicia Rashad call home. It was at Howard where Reka really got to shine. Her leadership roles include landing a Resident Assistant (RA) job her sophomore year, which she continued until Graduation. She also resurrected, along with fellow Washingtonians the "Washington State" Club, where she became president! It was a popular thing to have a state club at the University, so why couldn't Seattle have one? Being involved in EPP (Endustry Power Players) solidified her respect for Hip Hop and cemented her dream of ...(CONTINUED BIO)
