About Me

Four young gentlemen were born to 8 parents. One from New York, One from Louisiana, and two from California. Through a series of fortunate events (broken bones, concussions, divorces, successful marriages, siblings, fishing trips, and dreams) the boys all found their way to Los Angeles. In 2006 the fellows came to realize that they wanted to do something more with their hands, so they built bridges, verses, and pre-choruses. They played a small show, then a bigger show, then some really medium sized shows. They released "The Ortolan" on Dim Mak Records in 2007, and toured a little, and played a lot (or a medium amount.)

In the past year and a half they've been fortunate enough to share stages with a bunch of people and drive around a bunch.

Influences: Here at the DS we're big believers in Chaos Theory, so some of our lesser known influences are an acorn falling from an oak tree in Ireland, circa 1312, a little gray haired gentleman forgetting his wallet in Germany, circa 1967, and finally, a Chinese peasant in 1982, whose decision to pick that final grain of rice resulted in Spyder giving a face-melting guitar solo last night. We would also like to acknowledge the influence of the Big Bang. Not for creating us and everything and all, but for setting the bar in terms of awesomeness. We intend to raise it.
