Next SLOWPAINFUL DOSE SHOW:LIVE VIDEOS COURTESY OF MR. JOE FETUS
FROM DJ RIDERS 2/9/08
Out of the Long Island, Slow Painful Dose is a quest first embarked upon in the summer of 2005 when best friends Brandon Meyer (guitar) and J (vocals) decided to once again attempt to form and maintain a heavy metal band after several failed attempts (Disdain, TCI).
With main influences Danzig, Seemless, Pantera, Life of Agony, and Alice in Chains, the two brothers in metal went through several jam sessions with bassists and drummers coming and going. Current drummer, Gina also had a stint with the band during this period.
One day J recieved a response to an ad and soon therafter, Slow Painful Dose had a powerhouse drummer in Darren Markoff. Weekly jams were routine, until Darren was no longer able to attend practices due to work committments. So, the band once again was on hiatus for several months.
Around the holiday time, J and Brandon both received emails from Darren saying he wished to resume the band. Bassist, Ant was soon added and Slow Painful Dose for the first time was a complete four piece band. Unrelenting gigging around the Long Island area followed. SPD played shows at big names in Long Island live music venues such as Village Pub South, Mr. Beery's, McCoys, Pat's Place (Now Village Pub of Lindenhurst), and Bedrock's @ Shrader's Tavern (now Lefty's). Due to some personal reasons Ant and the rest of the band parted ways, and in came bassist Ryan Belmont. The onslaught of shows continued and things were going well. Soon after, financial demands forced J to leave the band, and Slow Painful Dose was no more...!..! until now !!! With a new (yet old) lineup of vocalist J, guitarist Brandon and drummer Gee - SLOW PAINFUL DOSE is once more active.
WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING A PERMANENT BASSIST! SOMEONE WHO IS DEDICATED, NOT AN ASSHOLE AND READY TO DO WHAT IT TAKES. PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH US IF YOU ARE INTERESTED!!
