Within a music scene inundated by stagnation, fashion worship, and cookie-cutter clones, Blood Promise achieves something rarely accomplished; turning real life into art. Their music literally pulses with the full, unabridged lexicon of human emotion and expression, which is delivered as a solid and focused force that alternately pulls the heartstrings and crushes the sternum. Snubbing stereotypes and standing in defiance of cliches, Atlanta's Blood Promise has made the worldwide buzz that is growing about their music undeniable. Never pretentious, never conformist, never holding back.
Originally formed as Lilitu in 1995 by enigmatic front man Derek Bonner, Blood Promise's music has always represented pure emotional expression. The 1999 release of The Earth Gods, found Lilitu examining the struggles of existence and the evolution of the human condition. With 2001's release of Memorial, the band delved into the realms of tragedy and solitude. Released worldwide in September of 2004 on The End Records, The Delores Lesion has received remarkably positive press throughout the world, garnering top ratings in magazines and online reviews alike. Weaving a story of exploitation and betrayal with deft and richly harmonic riffs, compelling melodies, and lyrics of truth, tragedy, and passion The Delores Lesion leads the listener through the depths of adversity that brought it to fruition.
Like life itself, Blood Promise's story plays out on the stage... a place they are no stranger to, having shared many shows with the likes of In Flames, Arch Enemy, Cradle of Filth, Opeth, Trivium, Lacuna Coil, Death by Stereo, The Kovenant, Nevermore, Daylight Dies, Katatonia and many more. Most recently on the live front the band completed the 5 week International Extreme Metal Festival 2005 Tour under the name of Lilitu, which brought them to stages across the U.S. and Canada all through September and in to October with bill-mates God Dethroned, Nightrage, Manntis, Hell Within, Thine Eyes Bleed, Epoch Of Unlight, Atrocity, and Leave Eyes among others. New Blood Promise fans were born each night, won over by the group's powerful performances, showmanship, and ability to move listeners in ways only the genuine article can accomplish. Expect to see Blood Promise on more tours and festival dates in the New Year.
Born from the band Lilitu, comes a new band and sound. Delivering razor-sharp song writing and memorable hooks. The songs drive live shows, and Blood Promise is ever striving to reach deeper into themselves for the next burst of inspiration and creativity in order to capture and document their efforts. To that end the band recently tapped legendary guitarist/producer James Murphy (Death, Obituary, Testament, and Disincarnate) to help bring their latest three tracks to life with his brand of production, engineering and mixing. James has imbued Blood Promise's new 3-track label demo with a gripping clarity and visceral punch that has left all who listen to it insistent that it's simply too good to be called a demo. And the next chapter is already being written as songs for the forth coming full length album project are being brought to life in the Blood Promise rehearsal studio. James Murphy once again will take the production reigns, this time at his new studio, The SafeHouse, in Orlando Florida.
