I am here for Friends

About Me

Hi folks, I'm Dario, guitarplayer for Without Sorrow, Final Catch, Gemini Season and Quantum Fantay and doing some freelance stuff if asked.I would like to dedicate this page to all my good friends around the world, and of course especially the fans who are so very supportive to me and the bands. Thanks guys for having us everywhere around the globe. This page is for you all!!very special thanks to Patrick Cummings and the whole staff at Brian Moore guitars, you're the best. Thanks for the wonderful guitars!!!Now for some biography about myself. I started playing guitar when I was about 13 years old, actually I wanted to become a drummer or bassplayer (with Mark King as example) but my parents didn't allow that kind of noise in their house, so they wanted me to play keyboards. I didn't like that so we compromised and I started to play the guitar. After a couple of years and some first bands (Alaska, Party Fever, and some more) I actually joined the first group of real good musicians at the age of 19. The band was called Mister E, a joint effort of musicians that used to be part of legendary band Mistery (possibly the best Belgian AOR band to date)and Bad lizard (doing shows with Saxon, Manowar, Dio and so on...). Some time later the band was renamed to Outbreak. Playing good old cover songs from bands like Ozzy, Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Scorpions,Whitesnake and so on, the band rapidly made a good name in the gig-circuit around Belgium. We recorded one album and a mini-cd before the band stopped due to medical circumstances, back in 2002. We came back in 2005 to record a final album, dedicated to our fans, but up till now it hasn't been released since we would like to redo certain parts. But I'm pretty sure it'll come out sometime.Meanwhile I read an advertisement in a magazine, put there by the illoustrious mr. Centauri. Apparently he was looking for some kind of Brian May, and since I really adore Queen (especially the old stuff) I immediately contacted him and together with Yves Simmah, a new band was born. Ghiribizzi saw the light in june 2000 and has become a pretty known band in the progressive rockscene these days. Back in 2001 we recorded our first album, called "Zep tepi", which is Egyptian and means littuarly "the first time". After these recordings, we decided that this music should be put live on stage, so we formed a live band with ao. Pete Mush, Mario Pauwels(legendary Ostrogoth drummer) and Kurt Mussche (now in Kisstory) After some line-up changes the band has its line-up with Krid Yrus on bass and Gino Bartonlini on drums. In 2005 we recorded our second album "pan'ta rhei" which did pretty good around the globe, even made it twice to album of the month (in Belgium and Brasil). In 2003 and 2005 I also recorded and wrote some stuff for seven times world champion trial bike Kenny Belaey, to be put on his two instructional DVD's. Next to that I did some freelance stuff for various people, most known Frank Van Dingenen and pre-productional stuff for the writers for Andre Hazes. In 2005 I was asked by Pete Mush to play the guitar parts on the first Quantum Fantay album, called "agapanthusterra". I did some gigs with the band, but decided to leave and make room for someone else, who could invest a lot more time in the band, since I had too many work and wasn't able to make it all the time to rehearsals. Quantum Fantay recorded a second album in 2006 (called Ungiunsi), but their guitarplayer left the band and I rejoined the band in January 2007. In July 2007 we recorded a live-album at the Herzberg Festival, were we were headlining the bill on Thursday. This cd should see the light in February 2008, and will be followed by an European tour to promote this album. Also in 2005 I met some guys from the Brian Moore guitar factory. Since I already owned a custom shop piece, it was quite easy to get in touch with them and after sending over some of my stuff, they asked me to join the Brian Moore family of guitarplayers, along with guys like Brett Garsed, Dann Huff, Coop De Ville, Al Pitrelli, Elliot Randall and so on... At this moment I own 4 custom shop Brian Moore guitars, I'll add some pictures of them in a short while. The best guitars in the world, that's for sure.Normally in the beginning of 2008 a new tour with Quantum Fantay should see the light, so I really look forward to see you people on the road some day. So don't be a stranger, come over to one of our shows and meet the crazy people in the bands. Also stay tuned for Final Catch, a new interesting project coming up somewhere in 2007, especially if you like melodic rock!Lots of love to you all,Cheers Dario
