About Me

I let ideas digest slowly. I like a good man with a great beard. I hate when strangers think they know me, and I hate it even more when my experimental artifices work. I'm a collie with a backpack full of bricks. I like to be inappropriate but try not to be an asshole. I'm a relationship girl. And I DO wear skirts sometimes, but only when I'm being courted old-timey like, by a gentleman who has stated his intentions.

My Interests

Things that I'm not tired of yet. Bonus points if they're athletic yet whimsical, like Roller Derby and circus arts. Screen printing, rock climbing, eating delicious food.

I'd like to meet:

I'm all for expanding my social network in theory, but in practice, unless we're meeting because of a mutual friend or shared interest I tend to be pretty disinterested in what strangers have to say to me. Unless they offer me candy. Meeting one of these dudes would be pretty cool though. Aragorn is soooooo dreamy.

Music:

Music with stringed instruments (Rasputina, Andrew Bird, The Arcade Fire, etc) and trip hop (Tricky, Portishead, Pelican City, etc). Generally moody, wailing/whiny (Beirut, Devotchka) and downtempo music, like Blonde Redhead or Godspeed.

Movies:

Good fantasy (Pan's Labyrinth), creative fiction (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fight Club), and documentaries (Hell House). I really hate anime. Like, alot.

Television:

tv! bah humbug!

Books:

I used to brag about the books I read, but that was when I used pretension to mask my feelings of inadequacy. And then I found out how much fun it is to be outside.
Pithiness aside I don't usually read fiction but really like Milan Kundera and I think I'm about to get pretty into Kobo Abe.

Heroes:

Medusa. And Rocky Balboa. I wonder which would win in a fight. Also the retired Ms Dinah-Mite (TXRG).
