Myrna Braza wrote the song "Untamed.no" for the Norwegian fashionbrand UNTAMED (2006).
This is the first time Myrna performs with dancers on stage. Quite unusual, as she usually performs with musicians and background singers, but still very entertaining !

MYRNA BRAZA
of Norwegian and Philippine origin, was born in Bergen in 1983. The first time she performed before a live audience, she was 7 years old. At the age of 13 she recorded her first demo. While she was singing in the schools’ choir, she and her friends formed a little church choir on their own. Myrna and her friends kept performing at different events in Bergen for some 3 – 4 years, also with songs she herself had written and arranged. In high school, she continued writing songs, and collaborated with other artists as well as musicians.
In 2002, Myrna began working with tomtom, a producer from Bergen. He was at that time the producer of the Norwegian hip-hop group “Spetakkel”. The result was a collaborative recording of three songs with Myrna and Spetakkel, “Bror”, “Kem Rokker” and “Slaglinjelaget”. In 2003, they released their first album, “Spetakkel”, with “Kem Rokker” as their first single. The song was one of Norway’s biggest hip-hop singles that year, and the music video had heavy rotation on NRK2 (Svisj).
Less than a year after Spetakkels’ debut, Myrna moved to Oslo, in order to develop herself more as an artist and songwriter. She worked with the producers Silverplate (also known for having produced the famous Norwegian hip – hop group “Paperboys”), and Rumblin’ (producer of “Kleen Cut”).
Myrna was also a background singer for the Norwegian(Somalian) RnB-artist, Noora Noor, at Norways’ largest music festival, the Quartfestival (Idrettsplassen,2004), where they were the support act for Alicia Keys and Anthony Hamilton. Singing background vocals for Noora and recording her own songs in the studio, Myrna also collaborated on a song with the Norwegian rapper “Kleen”.
In 2005, Kleen released his first album, “Rookie Of The Year”. Myrna sang the chorus on “That Feeling” from this album. It was released as a single complete with a music video. The same year, Myrna finally had the chance to play her own music, at the largest music convention in Scandinavia, By:Larm. The feedback from this event was great, and the reward was a nomination for the By:Larm-scholarship (NOK 500 000,-).
Myrna knew that one of her dreams had come true, when she stood on stage with her own band at the Quartfestival(Plenen) 2005. In addition, she had a couple of acoustic gigs during the festival, and one of these live performances was listed on Z – TV.
In 2006, Myrna moved back to Bergen to complete her own album. She’s currently working with the producer tomtom in “tomtomstudio” at USF Verftet. Her debutalbum is almost finished, and has already proven itself promising:
- Myrna was “Ukas Urørt”(week 7,2006) with the song “Far Away”, which resulted in a lot of air-play.
- In March 2006 Myrna was one of the representatives for Norway’s soulartists, when Lydverket(Nrk) sent their documentary on soulmusic from Norway.
- Januay 1st, 2007, Myrna was in the TV-programme “Beat for Beat”(Nrk).
- The song “Bontelabo” (Kahuun feat Myrna Braza) was released February 1st (2007) on Bagpakrecords(New York).
- In February 2007 Myrnas song “Girlfriend” was featured on an Antipiracy-compilation CD, and was printed in 50.000 copies. The CD is being distributed on all big music events, such as By:Larm.
In addition, Myrna is featured on several Norwegian albums & mixtapes.
Myrna has several fansites, and has also been referred to as the soulprincess of Bergen and the new soulhope of Norway.
This is how Myrna chooses to describe her own music:
"It's difficult to describe my music with only one expression, but I move within the genres of soul, funk, jazz, blues and R&B. For me, music is about communication, about expressing yourself, and having fun at the same time. I am so lucky to be working with a team of fantastic musicians, and the great producer&musician, tomtom, who have taught me so much throughout the years, and made me really believe in myself. The music is a part of me, a gift I've been blessed with...And my dream is to share it with everyone.."
