In 1997, a plan to significantly impact the inhumane conditions of these precious animals was implemented and New Leash On Life Animal Rescue (NLOL) was born. Since establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with in L.A., NLOL's founders yearned to expand their efforts beyond the West Coast.Over 25,000 animals are euthanized in Chicago each year. In May 2005, a few dedicated Chicago animal rescue veterans decided to form a new dog rescue in an attempt to help reduce that number. After learning of NLOL's desire to help animals in other cities, the two groups joined forces to become New Leash On Life Chicago.NLOL Chicago is an entirely volunteer run, nonprofit organization committed to finding loving homes for shelter dogs who would otherwise be euthanized.Through our adoption, foster and education programs, NLOL Chicago addresses the nationwide issue of pet overpopulation and the importance of spay/neuter, and also tackles local concerns such as Chicago's dog fighting epidemic. The goal of NLOL Chicago is that of consistent advocacy for those forgotten animals - speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.NLOL Chicago does not discriminate by age or breed. Our adoption fee is $150, and our dogs are fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped prior to adoption.We invite you to join us as we work to save dogs and puppies from the cruelty of abuse and neglect and expose them to the wonders of love and compassion.
