ABOUT ARF: The Animal Rescue Foundation is a no-kill, non-profit, 100% volunteer shelter for cats and dogs located in Beacon, NY. We receive no gov't funding and rely solely on the generous support of the public to rescue and find new homes for animals. ARF was started in 1986 with just a few dedicated volunteers, and has remained true to its mission over the years. ARF offers sponsorships, volunteer opportunities, tours, and same-day adoptions. All of our animals have been examined by a veterinarian, tested (cats: fiv/felv; dogs: heartworm), and vaccinated. ARF residents are guaranteed a life with us- though we hope to find homes for them all!ABOUT ME: This page was started by me as a way to reach out to the community and raise awareness about ARF, as well as the plight of all animal sanctuaries. I am a licensed veterinary technician in the state of NY (B.S.- Mercy College.)
