About Me

Meet Vegas. This beautiful little girl is in need of Sponsors to help us with her medical bills. Vegas has required extensive medical care. Her medical bills will exceed reach $4,000.00.
This sweetheart is a beautiful female pit bull who is approximately 10 - 12 months old.Despite all the previous abuse she suffered, her body being in so much pain, and her being very ill....all she wants to do is love and be loved!Vegas is incredibly affectionate & just adores everyone she meets! Vegas loves to cuddle & snuggle. Vegas is also 100% dog friendly. Here is her story....Several weeks ago Vegas was abandoned on the door step of a vet clinic. Vegas was badly injured, her hip was fractured, and very ill. It appears someone kicked her or beat her, and then neglected to treat her very serious condition. Her injury required surgery. The surgery Vegas required needed to be performed by a surgeon who specialized in injuries like the one Vegas had sustained. He was unable to operate on Vegas right away. In addition to her injury, she had an awful case of round worms (a severe infestation), an almost fatal infection, and other health issues. In the meantime, we did our best to manage her pain, and to begin treating everything else that was wrong with her.A foster family took Vegas into their home to give her the best care possible. During a snowstorm (this storm was so bad, blizzard warnings had been issued) Vegas took a turn for the worse.Vegas became lethargic, would not get up, was not eating or drinking water and was running a high temperature of 104 degrees. Our foster family rushed Vegas to an emergency vet clinic! At the emergency clinic Vegas was stabilized, and tests were run. It seems that all of the stress, from everything Vegas had going on...took its toll on her body..and she crashed. The very next day the surgeon was contacted and it was decided Vegas needed immediate surgery.Lucky for Vegas she has received the best care possible and is doing better now. She is on her way to recovery - prognosis is good - it will be slow, but she will get there. Vegas will require physical therapy in the coming weeks, and supplements to aid in her full recovery.A&S Rescue took a gamble on Vegas! Vegas is definitely a dog worth saving, giving a second chance to, and well worth ten times the amount of money associated with her medical care.In order to offset the costs of Vegas' medical care so we can continue to care for other needy dogs, we are asking for donation in her name. Every dollar counts, and enable us to continue to provide the best for her, as well as other homeless and needy pit bulls. Please consider contributing! How to donate:Send a check or money order to:A & S Rescue ATTN: Donations- Vegas P.O. Box 421 Antioch, IL 60002
