About Me

Myspace BackgroundsThe bird is an animal almost universally exalted and accepted as symbolically being associated with the soul, as a messenger of the gods, a carriers of souls, an oracle or seen to possess the spirit of loved ones. Native americans believed also that it was a great honor to possess a feather. They were even decorated individually to give them a more impressive look. Beads and rope were often added, as well as animal hair, and each feather would be intricately worked on so that it had a very distinctive look. The types of feathers worn could show a person’s tribe or status, making them a very important form of communication. It’s easy to see how the first inhabitants of this land were fascinated by birds, and how the Native Americans could believe that their feathers held special powers. Feathers are also symbolic of prayers being taken up to the heavens and brought up to the spirit world so they could receive the message of those down below. .... This profile is set up to help me promote and sell my jewelry. I have always been fascinated by birds and their beautiful colored feathers and plumage. I became interested in making feather earrings a year or so ago when i couldnt find them anywhere. There are several different styles which are available for sale. I hand dye most of them and therefore can create a variety of different looks. Please feel free to email me with any questions. Please read my blog for information on ordering earrings.
