About Me

-Who LOST CAUSES is-
Lost Causes started in March of 2003. Lost Causes represents the same thing today as it did then. It is a musical outlet for a few kids from a desert town with no real possibility of widespread support. We travel when we can, but the idea of "making it" isn't why we make music. We make it purely because we LOVE music, and it allows us to release energy in an attempt to keep ourselves sane in such a strange land.
The music has changed a bit since the beginning, just as the lineup has. Life has a way of presenting importance in ways that conflict with how a band must work. Andy played drums for the first year, at which time Sammy Boy entered and was a perfect fit. The incarnation with Sammy Boy, Tick, Trevor, and Curtis lasted 3 years. At that time Trevor (bass player) needed to leave to concentrate on his family, and Curtis lessened his involvement in order to pursue his higher education. These people are always a part of our family. the L.C.S
We worked with a new bass player (Sean Ornery) for about 5 months, but after an awkward time trying to get shows going with him, we decided maybe it was time to call it quits as the incarnation of Lost Causes.
We play(ed) to anyone that listened. We play(ed) for anyone who understands. We don't plan on ending this addiction anytime soon... We only hope to continue to grow in other avenues and alleyways. Sometimes it's better to burn out than to fade away
Bands weve played with in our rock odyssey: Envain, the Independents, Throwrag, Caustic Christ, Municipal Waste, the United, None of the Above, Vena Cava, Liquid Cheese, All or Nothing HC, Midnight Creeps, Avoid One Thing, Go Betty Go, The Nicoteens, 12 Step Rebels, Lower Class Brats, Total Chaos, Broken Bones, the Vibrators, UK Subs, Angel City Outcasts, Born to Lose, Far From Finished, US Bombs, the Business, Roger Miret and the Disasters, the Hallowed Points, Brainfailure, the Toasters, the Briggs, the Rum Fits and many more.
They were all swell people.

Sounds Like: A Train Wreck. It's 3-Chord punk rock with a twist of scallywag. Use your imagination or come to a show. LOST CAUSES play a brand of street punk that is dirty-intense, dogged with energy, faster than sin, akin to old ’85 skater punk. The shows are non-stop momentum; the songs are abrupt, lean, and get right down to what the fuck it’s all about. (Without taking themselves too damn seriously.) It’s drunken songs about real life--about existing in New Mexico as a Lost Causes Scallywag!Dang.
