Our debut album Wrong Tree is now available online
BIOGRAPHY:Vaughn and Co. is a recent addition to the original music scene in the Midwest and soon will be playing throughout the entire country. Spun from the previous band known as Element, based out of Cincinnati, the current lineup has been together since late in 2004. As a 5 piece, many different musical styles and experiences are demonstrated within the music. Virtually every venue in Cincinnati has seen one of the members, if not the whole lot.
Ronnie Vaughn, the bands founder, now has his talent appearing as fresh and inspiring as it ever has. In Vaughn and Co. he has taken his song writing and lyrical talents to a whole new level. His continuity of creativity has left a wake of loyal fans throughout the years that continues to grow. Brandon Glanton joined up with Ronnie three years ago while working in their previous project Element. Playing a variety of percussion instruments as well as the the drum set on some tunes, he rounds out the rhythm section that cant be filled with just drums and bass. The addition of lead guitarist Rob Vargo added the missing harmonic and melodic dimension to compliment Ronnies vocals and rhythm guitar playing. Youll probably never hear Rob play any tune the same way; whether its just in the way he fills the space during breaks in the vocals or if its a lengthy featured guitar solo.
Lee Mahaney joined the band in the fall of 2004 and brought a breath of rhythmic fresh air to the band. Live, youll hear Lee do things most others drummers only dream of, and hell look like hes not even trying. Lee is without a doubt one of the most artistic drummers in town. On bass, the addition of John Hurd, through having previous experience playing with both Lee and Brandon made the new rhythm section transition rather seamless. Whether, its derived from R&B, Jazz, Latin, or Rock & Roll, if Johns writing it, its going to be funky.
In March, 2006 Vaughn and Co. released their debut album Wrong Tree to the delight of their long-term fan base. Although the band is rooted in rock n roll, you probably wont hear two songs back to back without the reaching outside of that genre to add a flavor of funk, blues, reggae, latin, jazz, or even bluegrass. Often times youll hear many of these different styles seamlessly integrated within one composition. Vaughn and Co. shows are definitely one of a kind, full of energy and excitement, backed by a flow of musical creativity.
