About Me

Higher Ground 6.7.06
Blending elements of roots-rock, groove, backbeat and Americana, The Casual Fiasco has been turning heads down the east coast with their shirt-soaking live shows and unique songwriting. Live sets transition seamlessly from foot-stomping rock to breezy backbeat, flush with three part harmonies, dynamic changes and melodic overtones. Arguably one of the busiest independent bands in the northeast, the Burlington, VT based quartet of twentysomethings has logged 500 shows in 3 years and is packing venues like the Knitting Factory (NYC), Higher Ground (VT) and Paradise(Boston).
The Casual Fiasco has been on bills with acts as diverse as MOE., Disco Biscuits, Little Feat, Dickey Betts and Great Southern, Toots and the Maytals, Tim Reynolds, RAQ, North Mississippi Allstars, Tea Leaf Green, the Slip, Brazillian Girls, Addison Groove Project, Cat Empire and State Radio to name a few.
The Casual Fiasco will be releasing a new EP this fall. For music, video, tour dates, and band news, visit www.thecasualfiasco.com Catch the FIASCO!

"One of Burlington's 5 bands to see." Burlington Free Press

"Like a good pair of patchwork pants, the Fiasco seamlessly blends mountain and island music with quirky narratives and British invasion harmonies to create a unified sound that is truly unique and utterly cohesive. The Fiasco's sound is rooted in the crafting of their songs, deeply hearted in late seventies and early eighties rock and roll. Campus Activities Magazine

“A rare combination of mountain rock groove and island music. The post-jazz reggae stylings are a breath of fresh air in the jam-rock scene and Casual Fiasco may as well be the forefathers of a new sound. Save your money on Police reunion tickets - Roots rock hasn’t sounded this great in years.” Stowe Reporter

"It takes a special band to actually take the jam band sound to a new level and succeed in the world. Phish did it! Dave Matthews Band did it! The Casual Fiasco? They can do it. The sound that we could be hearing in big theaters and arenas all over the country." thisISmodern.net

"We saw it before in Sublime and Mad Caddies; now, The Casual Fiasco show they know how to get their pucca shell-wearing audience to really groove." Boston Phoenix

"The group's tasty blend of rock and reggae has found a wider following throughout the Northeast. The arrangements on Body Over Mind manage to give every band member a chance to shine, and sometimes the songs take unexpected turns from head-on rock into laid-back reggae... The result is a pleasant blend with a little bit for everyone, including those who love it when music just plain makes them feel good." Press and Sun Bulletin

"Designed to put a smile on your face. Combining the open-ended vibe of groove music with the solid hooks of pop, the Burlington-based band bridges the gap between Sublime and Paul Simon. Throw in a little exploratory jamming and you've got a recipe for laid-back good times." Seven Days
