About Me

The Formation of Bones…
Four guys with much song writing experience came together in mid 2002 thru parallel connections to combine their musical inspirations, and create something unique...
Pulsating drums, brooding bass lines, ethereal riff laden guitars combined with dark yet bombastic vocals - This was Tailbone, one of the most unique and powerful heavy rock bands to emerge out of Melbourne… Since they first formed Tailbone grew from strength to strength with their constant evolution of song writing, setting them apart from the Melbourne rock scene.
Tailbone have shared the stage with some of Australias finest artists such as Rollerball, Airborne, Fort, Dreadnaught, Frankenbok, .hinge, Mammal, The Fireballs, and an international support with German metal giants Caliban. Their invite to play the 2005 Metal For The Brain only goes to prove how versatile their ability was to fit onto any line up.
Tailbone released and launched their debut independent E.P. "The Ocean Drone" in 2003. After only having been together for around four months, this recording was to become the blueprint for their approach and style and still sold strongly up until their last ever shows.
The recording of their self titled album took twelve months to produce and will be known as Tailbones largest project to come to fruition. Featuring seven full-length songs, the album was launched in late April of 2006 and is available through MGM and Australia wide through JB - HIFI.
Tailbone continued to once again move to another level with their song writing and style, creating some of the best music they had written by far with five new darker, dirtier and bombastic tracks which unfortunately never saw the light of day. Sadly after five years of arduous song writing and gigging, Benny Stokes decided to part ways and even more sadly-but not surprisingly Tailbone could not find anyone to fill these 'concrete boots'.
The last known recording of the foursome took place somewhere in South Melbourne during August of 2007, within four hours, and for free. It was quick, raw and honest but tradgedy prevailed and the studio crashed the next day. The only remains of this day was a DAT tape that could not be mixed, but only listened to as it came out-and as it turned out only two songs were worth uploading as a final goodbye present for all the 'Bone' fans out there......'Tar the Hog' & 'Splade'.
TAILBONE WOULD COLLECTIVELY LIKE TO THANK ALL THOSE WHO SUPPORTED US OVER THE FIVE YEARS, YOU HAVE BEEN PART OF AN ELITE, AND YOU HAVE INSPIRED US CONTINUALLY ALONG THE WAY"...
