My family originally lived in Maryland. My hometown is a small town in Northern Illinois called Mount Morris, lived there about two years then moved to Leaf River.. Started my music career in 1971 playing guitar for numerous bands until 1973 when I changed my musical instrument choice the Bass guitar, since then I have been involved in bands with different interests and influences. Attended Music Clinics at Western Illinois University in Macomb 1975, 1976, 1977, & 1978.. It was a time of the Beatles (RIP-John Lennon & George Harrison), Cream, Alice Cooper (RIP-Glen Buxton), Savoy Brown (Later Foghat) (RIP-Dave Peverett & Rod Price), Janis Joplin-(RIP), Jimi Hendrixs-(RIP), The Allman Brothers (RIP-Duane Allman), RUSH , Deep Purple, REO Speedwagon, Aerosmith and other late sixties and early 70's bands and artists, I was easily influenced by the likes of Jack Bruce, Stanley Clarke, Pieter Sw..RIP), John Paul Jones, Mars Cowling, Geddy Lee, Tom Hamilton, and many other great bass players in the world of music.. A big influence in my high school music days were STARZ, (Richie Ranno, Michael Lee Smith, Brendan Harkin, Pete Swevel, and Joe X. Dube, may their music always live on.. Although a lot of my time was spent on Metal or Harder Rock like STARZ, I also wandered into the mist and challenged myself to become a better player by trying different types of music and methods, a few of these methods are mentioned herewithin, from Punk, to Metal, Top 40's, Speed Metal, to Jazz, and Blues, then to Southern Rock, to Classic Rock, then back to Metal, Progressive to Variety Rock, etc.. Active for five years in IRSL from 1979-1984 positioned as a jammer.
My Bass Equipment: AMPEG SVT 350-H pushed through AMPEG SVT 810-E cabinet, LINE 6 Bass POD XT Live, 4 string FENDER precision and Gibson, Thunderbird 5 string, COPLEY 5 string basses used equipped with Roto-Sound strings. My instruments over the years include, Ibanez, Hamer, Fender, Gibson, Dean, Copley, always used AMPEG starting 1973 with a AMPEG B-25-B tube head pushed through a AMPEG B-25-B Cabinet 2-15's, retired this amplifier in 2003. I swear by AMPEG and wouldn't play a show without it.. I used my first bass amplifier for 30 years, if thats not proof enough of reliability and performance you'll have to ask someone else what they like..
I am also a free lance rock photographer, I have taken photos of bands as follows: FireHouse, Bret Michaels -BMB, Dream Theater, Megadeth, F-5, STARZ, BAD BOY, Bazooka Jones, Aether, Angus Jackson, Blacklist, Sugarfuse, Endity, Timmy Middle Finger, Hairbanger's Ball, The Vintage Burning, Jaws of Life, Dove Load, and many more to be named soon.
