About Me

THE "PLEASE SIGN ME (INSERT MAJOR LABEL HERE) BIO"
David was born and raised in Florida. He gravitated towards music at an early age, (there is an embarrassing video floating around of David singing to a Hank Williams record at age 5), and by the age of 14 he picked up his first guitar and started writing songs. He showed great interest in songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Van Morrison as well as "modern day" songwriters such as Adam Duritz, Ryan Adams, Elliott Smith and Jeff Tweedy. Learning from these great writers, he began to compose songs that told stories, instead of just finding the quickest way to the chorus. Thats not to say David's songs aren't catchy. He has been described as "an intelligent songwriter with a knack for ear-grabbing melodies" on more than one occasion.
In the spring of 2003 David packed up and moved to Frankfurt, Germany to test the European waters a bit. Since living in Germany he has toured as a solo artist as well as with two other well regarded bands, The Needless and Hope.Losthope. The high point was playing in front of thousands of people at the 2006 Taste Of Chaos with The Needless. In 2006 he released his self-produced EP, "Rescue You, Rescue Me" which caught the attention of online Zines as well as many like-minded German artists. He played all over Germany in support of the EP, while garnering great reviews along the way. David is currently working on his second EP entitled "Fevers To Fires", which will be available SUNDAY, MARCH 23RD!
THE HAHA, ISN'T HE QUIRKY (HEY LOOK, INSERT INDIE LABEL) BIO.
David was raised by a family of Grizzly Bears in an unknown forrest..somewhere near a river where families spent their Summer vacations pitching tents and grilling hot dogs and hamburgers. David spent his cub years just like any young cub would...chasing his siblings, climbing trees, biting his mother's ears...a completely normal upbringing. That is until he curiously stumbled upon a campsite one morning....he could not believe what his eyes did see...a round (was it round?) piece of wood with a long skinny piece of wood attached to it...there seemed to be some sort of steel wires attached to it as well, and when he pawed at it...it made the most curious sound. He instantly fell in love. He decided at that moment he would leave his Grizzly Bear family and follow this wooded thing to wherever it could possibly lead him....on his journeys he kept a journal of thoughts and observations about the humans that surrounded him. He began to put these words to the sounds the wooded object would randomly make...this made him happier than anything else in the world...he continued his journeys and one day he came across a sound he had never heard before...it sounded like when a train passed hissing telephone wires...or when a phone was left dangling off the hook...or that machine that used to come and cut down all the trees in the forrest after winter...he heard a human call the thing a "synthesizer"....David ate that human and took his "synthesizer" and that leads us to today....David...just writing some songs..trying to come to terms with his place in the world...far away from the forrest he grew up in. I hope you like the songs and the story haha.
