Hello you (0: Im Nathan Cook aka Big Kid .... where do I start ? Im 36 and have been mixing music together in a segue type arrangement since I was 13 albeit at the time using my finger as varispeed on two home stereos, graduating to proper decks in me late teens. Got into Streetsounds Electro albums and Boogie etc at a tender age, then pirate radio tapes of Chicago House, wasnt old enough to drive in the Acid house era so used to dance around my bedroom wearing a smiley badge and tshirt waiting to be 18 and able to drive and get places... cut my dancefloor teeth in Ibiza 1990 and 1991 and got into going to raves like Eclipse, Amnesia and classic Sasha sessions at Shelleys in Stoke once I had a car , when the raves got a bit Hoover went to Venus in Nottingham regularly 91/92ish and nights like Cake and Breathless in Brum- classic classic nights -saw Justin Robertson, Andrew Weatherall, Rocky n Diesel there plus the amazing resident DJs and wanted to live in Nottingham..so I did... met Chris and Jim from a very early Crazy P there , inspired each other. went to and threw some great parties and met some ace people..lovely deep house scene and nights at the then Hippo ( now the Bomb) - seeing Norman Jaye, Ashley Beedle Snowboy etc for £2 (£2!!) in which deepened my love for house,disco,funk,rare groove,boogie and the dancefloor. Then moved back to my home city of Birmingham in the mid 90s- late 90's Leftfoot at the Medicine Bar - the likes of Jazzanova, Rainer truby, Kruder and Dorfmeister - yes please (0: now the likes of The Big Chill , Co-op, loved the Electric Chair keepin the spirit alive,Bloom, little lovely spaces like The Bulls head, Moseley... done hundreds of nights and parties over the last 15 years as a DJ and now produce music , collabarate with myspace artists such as Vicky Flint, Sarah Winton , Asher Dust and my lovely gorgeous lady DiscoPussy, have remixed for Paul MacInnes, Tashan, the Bionics., Monsieur Greg , and do a monthly show on www.myhouse-yourhouse.net monthly Tuesdays 9-12 midnight called Kaleidoscope Radio with DiscoPussy and DJ Squ1rrel - see blog for details and tracklists/podcasts/downloads etc... also available on itunes for free play on demand and podcast...just type in Kaleidoscope Radio ....many more projects to come, loving the vibe, the people, the collabarators and nice-heads ..have had support plays n props from Kev Beadle,Red Rack Em, Yam Who?,Ladydriver, me lovely collabarators, Beane the Noodler, Monsieur Greg , Blunted Monkz/Brigante Mutante, Invisible Stroke, and many many more thanks for your support all... any other collabs or remixes please holler..myspace is a revolution x I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
