Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

About Me

Hello, I'm Bev. I am also known as "Shifty Jayne", a privateer from 16th century England.
About Shifty Jayne: She is captain of the privateer ship, The Vengeance, with a Letter of Marque from Queen Elizabeth 1. She has been married (not necessary legally), 6 times; all of Jayne's husbands have departed this earth with mysterious accidents (what can I say, these things do happen). She is a good friend, a loyal shipmate and a good gal to have around if you've been stuck by a blade. She can patch you up and keep up the fight at the same time. Jayne has a real lust for life, just don't eat her cooking, right after you've made her mad; you might live (die?) to regret it.
About Bev: Like Jayne, I've been married (although not as many times, and my ex is still alive). Right now, I'm single and not in a relationship. I currently am living in the desert, not at sea, but do get to the water often, even if it's just over to splash in Hunter Creek. I love being outdoors, hiking with my two Siberian Huskies. I love to laugh, to sing and to spend time with the wonderful folks I've met on my life's journey. I love kids of all ages, they are an important part of my life.
Family: I have a boy who is in college, he keeps me young, keeps me thinking, keeps me challenged and keeps me centered on the truly important things in life.
Dubious Talents: I can sing most every TV theme song from the '60's and '70's ; can recite (almost) the entire dialog from Pirates of the Caribbean, Curse of the Black Pearl.
Likes: Sharp minds, kind hearts, fast wits (as opposed to nitwits, lol). I love music. I love cartoons. I love to laugh. I love good jokes, bad jokes, practical jokes, even at my expense. I am interested in just about anything and love to learn new stuff...
Beliefs: I believe in God. I believe in love, kindness, tolerance and acceptance. I believe in standing up for yourself and what you think is right. Our differences as people are what gives this world depth and flavor. I believe in freedom with personal ownership; meaning that I feel you should live your life the way you choose and that you should own the personal choices you make. I think everyone has had things happen in their lives, good or bad, that have shaped their characters. It is called living. I believe in claiming your life and not being a victim.
Bev and Jayne both believe in living your life joyously and full of flavor. We are content, flawed, fun, exciting, human, and passionate. We give no quarter and make no apologies for who we are. Huzzah! While you are checking out Bev and Shifty, check out Shiftyjayne.com your local Reno, Nevada, online auction specialists!A BIT ABOUT “SHIFTY JAYNE’S COLLECTIBLES”………….Shifty Jayne is my alter-ego. She is a privateer (circa 1520-1597) with a letter of marque from Queen Elizabeth 1 , which allows her to patrol the English seaboard as Captain of the good ship “Vengeance” and protect her fellow countrymen from the assaults of foreign vessels. Whatever she “collects” in service of her Queen, is her to keep, so long as proper tribute and tithe is given to Her Majesty. Recently, Captain Shifty Jayne has been spotted at various Renaissance Faires in the California and Nevada areas. While the Good Captain has enjoyed her “collections”, she feels that it is now time to distribute some of her “Stash”, so she has room to collect more …..The result is “Shifty Jayne’s Collectibles“.Please feel free to browse …..

My Interests

Pirating, Animals and Kids. Camping, Hiking, Swimming,Sword Play and Art. I love Ebay and run a collectibles shop on line. Wandering aimlessly in the desert or island and then getting glammed up for a party. Fixing up my place. Lot's of music; I am a huge fan and supporter of the local indie music scene. The Reno area has such an incredible amount of talent both young and old and I am really pleased to be a part of the Reno Music Project and it's endeavors to encourage local musicians to have a venue to play at and develop their talent.

I'd like to meet:

Caring, interesting people who have opinions but aren't so attached to them that they aren't open to someone else's; folks who are basically happy with their lives and understand that most of the downer stuff that happens will eventually move on; curious people (not curious-strange, but inquisitive).

Genuine people who are at ease and honest about themselves and what they want.So.....If you are looking for cheap thrills or a fast lay, I'm not your gal. If you're married, separated but still living with your wife, or think that multiple partners is the only way to go, I am definitely not your gal.

BUT ...... If I intrigue you, and you are interested in getting to know me better, are a well adjusted guy who likes a full figured woman who is happy and enjoying her life, drop me a note.

Music:

You will find me listening to all types of music. If you're at my house, it's like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get. Beatles, Rod Stewart, Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Creed, Lifehouse, Radiohead, Scott Stapp, Rascal Flatts, Jimmy Buffett, Uncle Cracker, etc., etc.,etc. You'd also hear plenty of orignial stuff: Burning Peace, Duece, Kimberly Trip, Justin McMahon, and Lenny Walker. I have been known to get "stuck" on movie soundtracks and play them non-stop. I also have a collection of Native American music. I enjoy jazz and classical, too. I like music that is real, makes you feel, and gives you something to think about. I like my music loud and soft, passionate or gentle, just not empty noise. I love the original stuff the best, though. It is flesh and bone to artist performing it. In addition to the above assortment of music,a friend has introduced me to the blues. Thank you Rich.
