FUTUREPROOF is the shocking story of America’s post-modern youth, estranged from their dysfunctional biological families, flailing toward adulthood in their attempts to form familial substitutions and finally identify some receptive place in the world. It is a world where everything seems to be turning upside down, a world where copious consumption of drugs and alcohol is the norm. FUTUREPROOF is, ultimately, about the ways a person can construct his own redemption through faith, acceptance and determination.
It is about how one generation must take its cues from passing generations and try to improve on the lives of the generations that come next.
FUTUREPROOF. Hailed by readers and writers around the world.
"What a great book!!!!! I read it during my first week of vacationing. It was amazing! I loved the characters. I related so much to Luke. You describe situations and hopelessness in a beautifully stark, but poetic way, but with the sort of humor that "we" can relate to.
Thank you so much for sending your book to me. I feel truly honored to have read it. I will recommend it to anybody! I absolutely respect your work and I can't wait to hear more from you in the future."
-- Martyn Lenoble , Bassist Supreme (Porno For Pyros, Jane's Addiction, The Cult)
"The writing is very edgy. If you enjoy writers like Stephen Elliott, you will find a home in FUTUREPROOF. I haven't felt as chilled reading a novel since I read the snuff film pages from LESS THAN ZERO. This book is haunting for one simple reason: It's convincing. Forget Generation X and Generation Y. Daniels is writing about Generation Z--and God help us if he's right."
-- PODdy Mouth
"Really good shit."
--James Frey, New York Times bestselling author of A Million Little Pieces and My Friend Leonard
"Harrowing, gripping, starkly original..."
--New York Press
"Liked what I read on your site. Look forward to reading more. I think you will connect soon."
--Jay McInerney, bestselling author of Bright Lights, Big City and The Good Life
"Makes a fair bid for voice of a generation: a post-punk, post-nuclear-family malcontent stalking the margins of society with a need to believe and very little to believe in."
--Pittsburgh City Paper
"Daniels' book understands the hopelessness of a life that cycles through evictions, betrayals and futilityand varnishes it properly with the murky haze of disease. [Daniels] fills a hole that other 'drug' authors have not."
--The Richmond (Virginia) BRICK
"Futureproof, like Kerouac’s true-to-life fiction has completely blurred the lines between mainstream memoir and mainstream fiction. Yet, Daniels’ work focuses on what you might call it a hybrid between Generation X, Slackers, and a heavy dose of cultural malaise...a work that must be considered not only for its literary merits, but also for being part of an important literary movement that wraps itself around culture, history, historical forces, and a group of writers who see eye-to-eye The most important book of 2006."
-- N.L. Belardes , author of LORDS Part One, master of NOVELTOWN
"FUTUREPROOF bludgeons the reader like the best of William Burroughs and Jim Carroll."
--Dan Pope, author of In the Cherry Tree
"Daniels’ work is raw, sprawling and brave. Bravo, Frank, for taking such chances."
--Samantha Dunn, author Not By Accident and Faith In Carlos Gomez
"With characters at once unique and universal, Daniels’ depth of passion for them rubs off onto your fingers and seeps into your bloodstream. A good high."
-- Josh Kilmer-Purcell , bestselling author of I Am Not Myself These Days
"In an era rife with memoirs, and especially memoirs about substance abuse, Daniels reminds us of the transformative authority and poignancy of fiction. The result is that subject matter which is all too painfully familiar to too many people is given a fresh jolt of energy and urgency."
--Kris Saknussemm, author of Zanesville
"This novel plunges the depths of a hilariously sad life with its vision of an American 'Trainspotting.' [With] an author gracefully touched by the muses of history and tragicomedy, FUTUREPROOF is today's story of meltdown and (eventual) redemption."
--Brandon M. Stickney, author of All-American Monster

READER PRAISE FOR
FUTUREPROOF:
"your writing is addicting! i literally read the majority of the book in 2 days. I could not put it down. It made me laugh, cry, pray, laugh some more, call my friends, call my family, laugh again, pray some more, and cry again. Then i walked away from the book with a new perspective on life and people and God and family. Books like that are the reason i turn off the t.v. and read. Books like Futureproof will change the fucking world."
Ansley Fowler Canton, GA
"Frank’s writing style is staunchly magnifying of what many of the new age writers will never be able to achieve in their next 10 years of pending expiration dates; passion, realism and anguish that will grip you from the very first page all the way to the cellar of hell that the book’s main character, Luke, finds himself locked into. Go and buy this book... if not for an outlook on drug frenzies and the sometime cutthroat weight of families and lust, buy it for its rousing of your own ideologies of moral value. A ten. A fucking ten."
Martyn Smith London, England
"When Frank emailed me the first 100 pages, I started reading and couldn't stop until I had finished."
Tyler McKinley Dayton, OH
"Great coming of age...raw...brutal...real...honest. Great characters...wonderful story...I want more."
Kenneth Hooper Mission Viejo, CA
"Finally. So long, with so many authors constrained to the cumbersome archaic clumsy medium of words and syntax.
Slap me some more. I've got a life of my own. Don't make me suffer the drizzling softball prose of your contemporaries!"
Tommy DiBella Carmel, IN
"This book shook me to the core...the dysfunctional biological family dynamics and how drugs and his friends become Luke's "Real" family...and whoa is the sex ever hot.
You were MEANT to write. You were meant to do this. I cant wait to read your next work."
Jennifer Schoen Spring, TX
"By page 92 I had run out of superlatives for this book. Amazing stuff. I expect you will be a household name in years to come."
Nissan Doowallier Vienna, Austria
"Take Luke Davies' CANDY plus Herbert Selby Jr.'s REQUIEM FOR A DREAM and you are not even close enough to touch Frank Daniel's futureproof. There is a huge population of people out there itching for work like this. I should know, I am one of those people.
Deann Marie Royal Oak, MI
"Congratulations, N. Frank Daniels, on a great success. I was hooked after only reading the prologue and you did not disappoint. It brought back fond memories of Chuck Palahniuk."
Templeton Moss Lexington, KY
"I pride myself on knowing quality when I see it, and quality shone through in every keystroke in this work."
Monique du Lac Paris, France
"Wow, you read like Bukowski. I see, hear, smell and feel the writing. This rocks!"
Jonathan Birbeck Carlisle, PA
"What a great story so far! The style is great, graphic, yet elegant. Reminds me of Chuck Palahniuk..."
Kyle J. Kaczmarczyk Buffalo, NY
"This MS reads like life, ripped from skin and blood and experience and pounded onto the keyboard as a necessary expression of what this experience MEANS."
Scott Lyons Melbourne, Australia
"I want more. This is a book that will be read and loved by people from every corner of the U.S. It is a book about life-about things that could happen to anyone in any area of the county. Pair that with the fact that it is actually well written and you've got yourself a best seller!!!"
Brandy Hawkins Kansas City, MO
"Me and girlfriend read this thru together over two nites before going to bed.
We both thought it was good. No, not just good - tremendous."
Robin Sneed Jr. Los Angeles, CA
"A fantastic effort. I do hope you strike lucky with this. You certainly deserve it."
Roger McBride New Orleans, LA
"Wow! When this one hits the bookstands, there's gonna be a stampede! Great writing, dude!"
Christopher Rookwood Denver, CO
"futureproof : as strong and as hard and as worth drinking as whatever might happen next. futureproof : advance evidence of this authors unbounded talent. futureproof : what this books main character isa reckless though intelligent drug addict working every day to ensure that the future will never happen to him personally. The writing has all the bluntness and harshness of Chuck Palahniuk, the warmth and immediacy of James Frey, the Generation X sensibilities of Doug Copeland, and a dark, laugh-out-loud sense of humor that could only be the authors own. Danielss ability to capture the feel of real conversations, of real family relationships, of real friendships, and of a real drug culture often left me feeling sure this book was actually nonfiction. Its that good. Its sad, and its hilarious. Its real."
Mike Smith Cedar Crest, NM
"Whilst I did not enjoy this book like I enjoyed Catch 22, I felt that to offer it less than ten out of ten would be a mistake, and the undervaluing of an important and influential book. I may have loved Catch 22, but I won't necessarily remember it forever, whereas your book raised many issues I believe I will ponder about for the remainder of my life. A magical, mysterious story."
