The world is going to hell, we don't have a record deal, and I've never had a better time in my life

About Me

I teach guitar and perform for a living. I have a dog, a cat and two turtles and live by myself. I used to smoke. I used to drink a lot. Now I'm growing old. :-P Life is good.IRELAND, NOVEMBER 2006:

My Interests

Aside from playing the gee-tar....I love to waterski, go for long walks (Shout-out to Zipper, my walking companion!) and go to concerts (hard to do when I'm usually the entertainment rather than the entertained) and sports events. I like to travel when I have time, and I love social atmospheres/being around a lot of people.

I'd like to meet:

I don't want to meet anyone. I know every one of my "Friends." There may be one or two on there whom I've only met a time or two, but most are old, good friends. Don't hit me up because I look interesting and you want to build up your "Friends" so you can look popular and feel good about yourself, please. If you think you know me, send me a message telling me who you are before sending a friend request - if I don't recognize you from your profile, your request will not be accepted. Thank you!UPDATE: Previously, I only added bands to my friends that I knew personally (at least one member) or had worked/performed with. I've decided that I will begin to add national/world acts that I like...but NOT small/local/unsigned acts that I don't personally know or haven't seen. I'm not going to add your garage band from Oregon if I haven't seen you live and enjoyed your show. Anyone else on my friends list is in one way or another an acquaintance or business associate, so I will reiterate that I'm not interested in adding you if I don't know you...And even if you think I do know you, please send a message telling me exactly who you are. :)

Music:

I love pretty much any music. My favorite bands of all time include Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Collective Soul(although I miss Ross!) and the Marvelous 3/BUTCH WALKER. The best era in jazz is 50's/60's small group a la Miles Davis or Art Blakey. When I want to relax I'll often put on some Tom Waits, and I've recently been turned on to Bob Schneider, who is gaining ground on my favorites for his diverse songwriting styles and witty lyricism. Collective Soul is the band I've seen live the most times, 6 or 7 (I've lost count) and probably the best concert in my memory is Sting, July 2000.

Movies:

There're soooo many movies, but if I had to spit out a favorites list it would probably include (in random order) The Silence of the Lambs trilogy, Usual Suspects, Hedwig and the Angry Inch (probably my absolute favorite), Goodfellas, The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, Labyrinth (Childhood Nostalgia), Monty Python's Meaning of Life, SLC Punk, Dune (the more recent one)....many many more...
