There are so many. Somtimes a Great Notion (which my neighbor has immortalized on his front steps) The Sound and the Fury, The Adventures of Cavalier and Clay, The Enormous Room, East of Eden, Leaves of Grass and The Flounder, by Gunter Grass are four books off the top of my head.
