About Me

I've been writing performing and recording music since 1988...Busking, playing in cafes, pubs, clubs, weddings, parties, as a solo performer, as a band member, front man, session player, jammer...just the ordinary musicians bag. I've dabbled with a bit of sax, keys and percussion but write mainly on that ancient family favourite the acoustic guitar...I feel most free when singing and wailing on the harp...I love elements of most music...country, folky, bluesy, jazzy, rocky, souly, funky...I love songs that are passed on from player to player each giving a part of themselves in how they play it. To learn a song through a brief friendship only to hear that original song in question come crackling out of a set of speakers years and countries away jump back into your life...aaah thats the magical nature of music...I love meeting and playing with new musicians and wonder at the infinite possibilities generated from a few simple chords and words...it took me a long time to reconnect with music...something so vital to all life...it constantly humbles and teaches me to reappraise age-old wisdom in so many new ways...amen
