Floyd Vincent and the Childbrides

About Me

From the age of ten when he first picked up the classical guitar through to his first professional band at the age of fourteen and up to the present Floyd has been totally immersed in the world of music and performance. For the past 17 years he has largely by-passed musical trends and fads preferring to follow his own muse and lead one of Australia’s most unique and enduring bands as they record and tour both here and overseas. ************************************************************ ************************************************************ ********I went out three times this week, twice to see Floyd Vincent and the Childbrides . "Rave" Brisbane**************************************************** ************************************************************ **************** Vincent's superb guitar work alone ( Seat belt necessary for the title track) makes "Last exit motel" a classy operation. "Rolling stone"****************************************************** ************************************************************ ************** Under the somewhat eccentric auspices of Floyd Vincent the band plays fiery and feckless blends of Latin, Jazz, Rhythm and Blues and World Music." Time Off" Brisbane**************************************************** ************************************************************ **************** Just when you thought the average local rock act had exhausted all permutations the Childbrides re-invent the genre into something brave, new and truly international. "The Bulletin"*************************************************** ************************************************************ ***************** One of the local gems "Beat" Melbourne*************************************************** ************************************************************ *****************Sydney Flamenco dude Floyd Vincent is a story teller of some wit and imagination. " Rolling Stone"****************************************************** ************************************************************ **************The greatest secret of Australian world music scene turning this incredible blend of Mexican/Calypso Rock in to a gyrating, pumping, nerve tingling atmosphere of desperation and intensity. "Beat Sydney"***************************************************** ************************************************************ *************** Salsa flavoured Latino Arabic Funk music.
