To seek freedom is the only driving force i know. Freedom to fly off into that infinity out there. The average man acts only ifthere is a chance for profit. Warriors act not for profit, but forthe spirit. A warrior must focus his attention on the link betweenhimself and his death. Without remorse or sadness or worrying, hemust focus his attention on the fact that he does not have time andlet his acts flow accordingly. He must let each of his acts be hislast battle on earth. Only under those conditions will his actshave their rightful power. Otherwise they will be, for as long ashe lives, the acts of a fool. The self-confidence of the warrior is not the self-confidenceof the average man. The average man seeks certainty in the eyes ofthe onlooker and calls that self-confidence. The warrior seeksimpeccability in his own eyes and calls that humbleness. Theaverage man is hooked to his fellow men, while the warrior is hookedonly to infinity.A warrior is a hunter. He calculates everything. Thatscontrol. Once his calculations are over, he acts. He lets go.Thats abandon. A warrior is not a leaf at the mercy of the wind.No one can push him, no one can make him do things against himselfor against his better judgment. A warrior is tuned to survive andhe survives in the best of all possible fashions. Our fellow men are black magicians. And whoever is with themis a black magician on the spot. Think for a moment, can youdeviate from the path that your fellow men have lined up for you?And if you remain with them, your thoughts and your actions arefixed forever in their terms. That is slavery. The warrior, on theother hand, is free from all that. Freedom is expensive, but theprice is not impossible to pay. So, fear your captors, yourmasters. Dont waste your time and your power fearing freedom. A competent and self-confident person is incapable of jealousy in anything. Jealousy is invariably a symptom of neurotic insecurity. When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won.
