Old stuff, quiet rooms, chosen family, hot cars, dive bars, skating my ass off, books that mean something, worn leather & Levis, loud (good) music, sweating for a good reason, finding out why, doin' what I hafta so I can do what I wanna, makin' good art, drinkin' cold beer, spoutin' off in different voices, and finding the essence within. Not necessarily in that order.

Anybody who admits they dunno what the fuck they're doin' but plows on anyway doin' the best they can.
Herd runners, plains roamers, jungle screamers, vine swingers, mountain rangers, river ramblers, cliff divers, wind sailors, fire breathers, web weavers, road warriors, track skaters and thunder cats.
Cave dwellers are addressed on a case-by-case basis.
(Translation: if you write me saying I'm "hott" and/or use "ur" and "wazzup" in your correspondence I will ignore you. Do it again and I'll block you, after I tell you what an idiot you are in words too big for you to understand. I'm not amused by no-neck moron friend whores who can only gawp at the pictures. I'll sic mah boys on ya. You've been warned.)
Old-school punk, post-punk, metal, rockabilly, psychobilly, goth/industrial, coldwave, Britpop, new wave, swing, blues, jazz, old-school country, classic rock, and anything else that strikes me. If you dis Johnny Cash you're gonna go to Hell (not that I believe in that, exactly). Ditto KISS. If you like Marilyn Manson (or Green Day, or, gods forbid, Coldplay) you're already in Hell (or a reasonable facsimile) and I can't (and won't) help you.
I'm a total sucker for a killer voice, intricate guitar solo, or mad bass line (with serious extra points awarded for doghouse). Poets always win the prize, expecially if intelligent lyrics are combined with one or more of the above.
In absolutely no particular order: David Bowie, Natalie Merchant / 10,000 Maniacs, Kate Bush, Laurie Anderson, Elvis Costello, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus / Peter Murphy / Love & Rockets, Coil, the Damned, Laibach, Joy Division, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Creatures, Danny Elfman / Oingo Boingo, Alien Sex Fiend, Fields of the Nephilim, Death in June (the poetry, not the politics), Foetus / Wiseblood / Thirlwell, Tom Waits, Cramps, Social Distortion, Tiger Army, Necromantix, Demented are Go!, Rammstein, KMFDM, the Clash, Crass, the Exploited, Vandals, Ramones, Dead Boys, Descendents, X, Black Flag, DRI, Toxic Reasons, Dead Kennedys. DOA, Chris Isaak, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Count Basie, Billie Holliday, Glenn Miller, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Hank Sr, Hank III, Steve Earle, Buck Owens (fuck with me for that one, go ahead) Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, KISS, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, early GnR, Motorhead, Adam Ant, Billy Idol, Modern English, Level 42, Howard Jones... ooh Joan Jett, Pat Benatar... y'know I'm already tired of this and I haven't even warmed up yet, nor have I included the multitudes of local & regional bands. Suffice to say... I'm an audiophile.
OK I'll just warn ya I change this alla time. Bizarro list of favorites: the entire Thin Man series, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Withnail & I, Wings of Desire, Return of the Living Dead, Easy Rider, KISS Meets the Phantom, and pretty much anything that Audrey Hepburn, Myrna Loy or George Romero ever touched. And that doesn't even count getting all pretentious with Wenders and Fassbinder and oh, wait... I just scraped my nose on the ceiling... fuck.
I really don't watch TV much at all anymore. But when I do... SciFi, A&E, IFC, Discovery, AMC, TMC, THC (the Germans never win no matter how many times you watch), PBS (Mystery! yay!), and Comedy Central. Aaaaand Law & Order reruns. Oh, and let's not forget the cartoons... real cartoons, made with real ink on cels by real artists with real talent. Woody Woodpecker rules. And Tex Avery is a god.
I'm a reader. I'll read anything at least once & I loathe throwing any book away. Huge beautiful books full of print, photo, painting and drawing reproductions. Printmaking and photo technique references. Big reference books on almost any subject with insanely small print. Histories and atlases. Computer & software manuals (ok not so much). Biographies. Travel guides. How-to & owners manuals. Cheap paperbacks. Trashy car magazines. Good car magazines. Dictionaries. Printmaking journals. Artist books. Musty old beautiful leather-bound antique books with yellowed pages.
Favorite authors: Heinlein, Wilde, Eliot (because he puts me to sleep), Camus, Cheever, Varley, Piercy, Gibson, Adams, Moore, Rilke, Ferlinghetti, Olds, & Dante.
Golda Meir, Annie Sprinkle, Bettie Page, Kathe Kollwitz, Ann Calvello, Joan Jett, my grandma, and Mary MacGregor. Also Danica. Oh... and Leather Tuscadero. If you wanna throw guys into that mix, add Edward Hopper, Giorgio de Chirico, Evel Knievel, Tom Waits, Mel Blanc, Tex Avery, Tim Roth and John Cusack.
