About Me

Formed some years ago as a project by Jay Sheridan and Marc Kerlin, the band started out as a hip hop / breakbeat outfit two piece with vocals and guitars clashing with the electronic programming. Over the years they have began to tailor more traditional song structures which currently have a New Order / Mondays and general Madchester type vibe. Jay's programming and vocals are complimented by Marc's sometimes subtle, sometimes brutal guitar lines. In the studio we are often joined by various talented others such as vocalist Marcus Keech, bassist Greg Floyd and drummer Roman Krause. The songs you hear on this page were produced by James Nutt who has really captured the essence of what The Importers are about. Great tunes wrapped in lush elements. I have to mention him because I believe he's a genius, although he's the most modest person I have ever met. James is a great musician, arranger, engineer, tutor and producer. He also works within the multimedia area on film / television and dance projects. You really should click on his link below to sample his work. Naturally he's in my top 8.
