About Me

Profile courtesy of MySpace Layouts Moving to the beach from NYC has taught me to slow down and breath more. Planning a wedding, moving to a new city, and switching jobs has caused my stress level to rise greatly. A conundrum, a paradox, a juxtaposition -- I know, I deal with it everyday.I love: Pete, brussel sprouts, bikram yoga, the gym, teaching, books, writing, blogging, my friends near and far, music, red wine, my family new and old, the ocean. That list pretty much sums me up, especially the brussel sprouts. I'm not kidding.

I'd like to meet:

Old, old friends. Pirates. The Lovers, the dreamers, and me. People in Jax!

Music:

Sufjan Stevens, Foo Fighters, Thom Yorke, Bjork, Arctic Monkeys, The Fray, James Blunt, Spoon, G. Love, Radiohead, John Mayer, The Smiths, The Police, Old School Hip Hop, Tori Amos, Color Me Badd, Crystal Method....

Movies:

The Dreamers, Waking Life, Walk the Line, Munich, Amelie, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Sound of Music, Like Water for Chocolate, A Very Long Engagement, Lord of the Rings...

Television:

I am addicted to Lost, The Office, and too many reality shows to not be embarrassed. I adore Rescue Me and Dennis Leary. I love the Travel Channel. Anything with John McLaughlin, John Stewart, or Bill Mahr makes me hot. I love me some intellectual commentary.

Books:

John Irving, Margret Atwood, David Sedaris, Anais Nin, JK Rowling, no mass-market crap. Well, except Harry Potter. But no other mass-market crap. I love to read, so I read tons of stuff, fiction, non-fiction, liberal commentary on the world. Right now, I am attacking all of the Pulitzer Prize winners.

Heroes:

Jem and the Holograms
