About Me

News:
A 14-minute version of the track "Kujira" was recorded with Colin Roper of Loving Thunder at Crybaby Studios last March. The completed song has been split into two acts (so to fit in the Myspace mp3 player) and is available for your listening enjoyment above.
Bio:
Swearengen was Aaron Edge and Rob Lovell. The two recorded a demo and played one show. This project was influenced by Yob, Engine Kid, Cavity, Sleep, Iceburn and Khanate. Thanx to all who supported Swearengen.
Future plans:
None.
Ppress:
"They (Swearengen) sound as brutal as the murderous cocksucker from whom they got their name."
— Jeff Kirby (www.thestranger.com)
"I’m a huge Deadwood fan, so a band naming themselves after Al Swearengen rules. They’re heavy, slow and sludgy and have long songs, falling halfway between Neurosis and Sleep. I’d call ’em stoner rock if they weren’t fronted by Aaron Edge. The Stranger will probably write about this band as the next big thing a year from now."
— Dan 10things
"Aaron writes the best riffs in town. I was bummed after each of his last bands broke up, but then he just comes out with another awesome heavy band."
— Bunnypuncher
Swearengen, the history of a man:
Ellis Albert Swearengen, known as Al Swearengen, (b. Oskaloosa, Iowa, July 8, 1845 – d. Colorado, 1904) was a pimp and early entertainment entrepreneur in Deadwood, South Dakota, running the Gem Theater, a notorious brothel, for 22 years, and combining a reputation for brutality with an uncanny instinct for forging political alliances. Swearengen would marry three times, all marriages ending in divorce... on the grounds of spousal abuse. He lured desperate young women from far away to Deadwood, then forced them into prostitution through a combination of bullying and physical brutality, by himself and his henchmen. The results were highly lucrative. According to his recently rediscovered obituary, Albert Swearengen was found dead in the middle of a suburban Denver street in late 1904. He apparently died of a massive head wound and was not hopping a freight train as is often reported.!-START block to Place Custom Banner above navigationBar Custom Banner Above Menu MySpace Band or Standard Page Author:Eileen !-END Block to Place Custom Banner top of navigationBar -!
