Young and Divine was officially formed during the summer of 2007 in Upstate New York. Unlike most modern day rock bands comprised of childhood and high school friends, Y&D ventured down other paths when constructing it’s all-star lineup... the internet.
Lead singer and guitarist John Philip Clark wasted no time in recruiting Albany, NY hometown heroes Joey Lynch and Joe Bortscheller following the breakup of their previous musical projects. A rigorous practice schedule followed, and within a few short weeks the boys had an album’s worth of material and a home studio at their disposal to start the demo process.
After hooking up with Tommy Quon of the TQ Management Agency, the group geared up to begin recording their debut album with Atlanta’s finest rock producers, Zach Odom and Kenneth Mount (Cartel, Mayday Parade, Every Avenue) The band entered Tree Sound Recording Studio in November of 2007 to begin tracking. Shortly after the recording process the group acquired Dallas, Texas native Jake Mai to take over on the lead guitar and backup singing duties.Currently Young and Divine is touring nationally and promoting their self-titled debut album.
