About Mr. P Chill:I'm from Sacramento, CA. I have been rocking mics for over 15 years. Hip hop is the one thing that I have that nobody can take from me. I have been robbed before. They took my money, but could not touch my love for hip hop. I have had my heart broken by various women before, but they could not break the love I have for hip hop. I have had nothing to eat for days before, but I was never hungry for artistic expression through hip hop. When I found out that I had cancer, I still had hip hop. When my homeboy got killed, hip hop was there to sooth me. When I found my religious beliefs, hip hop was right there kneeling with me looking to the sky. Hip hop is not just a style of music, dress, dance, art, or poetry, it is a lifestyle. The music that I make is for people who can appreciate the true artistic expression that is the vibe that hip hop is. People ask me who I sound like, I respond with "I sound like me". I guess you could say that I sound like The Roots in the respect that I have a live band, or KRS ONE in the respect that I am an advocate for true hip hop, or like MC Serch because I am white, or Crazy Ballhead because I'm from Sacramento, but those are all influences who make up who I am. Any emcee who strives to sound like another is not a true emcee, but rather an imposter. I feel that I have been truly blessed with this music that I make. I have gotten to rock hundreds of shows since going solo in 2002. I have played shows as far away as Oregon, Washington & Nevada. I have been blessed enough to tour and perform my music for thousands of new people. I have shared the stage with such greats as 2Mex, The Procussions, LA Symphony, The Shape Shifters, Sach (The Nonce), Grieves, N2DEEP, Busdriver, & Z-Man. I have shared the stage with countless unknown greats who have yet to reach their full potential (but who really does. Expression is a life long journey.).Bottom line, my music is a reflection of my soul.-Mr. P ChillCome see us live:What the media has to say about Mr. P Chill & Trunk Of Funk:"Sacramento's hardest working hip-hopper." -Chris Macias, Sacramento Bee, December 10, 2004"This isn't your stereotypical hip-hop performance. This is more like grown man?s hip hop" -Mike Osegueda, Fresno Bee, February 20, 2005"No gimmicks. No Sponsors. Just straight up, unadulterated underground hip-hop, as pure as the driven snow." -Synthesis, April 5, 2004"Rather than rapping about material items, sex and violence, they focus on the positive" -The Buzz, April 1, 2004"He's embarked on a mission to forge a new path for Sacramento hip-hop." -Rachel Leibrock, Sacramento Bee, February 28, 2003 Hip-Hop Showcase "Mr. P Chill"
