Folks have been asking about “The Elixer†so I think it’s high time I just came out and broke it down for everybody. “The Elixer†is a collection of Dublin songs that have been recorded over the years including some brand new ones that have never seen the light of day. There are some lost tracks with THE BEATCAVE HERMIT including the original “Can’t Get Enough†that still hits hard all these years later. The south paw himself ASPECT McCarthy’s classic “Datsun Pickup†can be found around the 50 minuet mark. To add a live element we put the song “Brandy Wine†in the mix as well, which I recorded with the 18 piece Realistic Orchestra for their album “Live @ Bruno’s†from 2004. Elon.is and I also used the release of “The Elixer†as an opportunity to present new tracks we’ve created in the last year. Those tracks include the crowd favorite “DJ’s Drunkâ€, the thumping “Mission Districtâ€, and “Unnamed Gunslingerâ€. We also felt it would be nice to give people a brief preview of our project “Redlake USA†so we threw a few samples of that in as well including “Bottom of the Lakeâ€. Just for good measure we included some of the raps from THE SHOTGUN WEDDING QUINTETalbum over alternative beats as well. To bring all of this together we resurrected the spirit of James Cagney (Angels with Dirty Faces, Roaring Twenties, White Heat, the original Irish hard rock) and had him host the whole project. This is going to be the debut release for our new imprint UNDERBELLLY INC.
