You sat there with your cool jeans, cool hair, and cool sneakers, and spit at me cuz my family could afford nothing better... Singer/song writer Eddie Gomez hails from Portland, Oregon, where he grew up a fan of hip-hop, country, alternative, and R&B music. It was Eddies brother, Teo Gomez, who first introduced him to the art of music. As children from humble beginnings, they spent most of their days making their own music with spoons, pots, and pans. Eddies true inspiration to perform drew from watching his own Mother and Father perform folkloric ballet, as well as his brothers gifted guitar playing. Born into a family in which rhythm was found in anything audible, Eddies talent for music was nurtured from the start. In his early teenage years, Eddie felt the bitter loneliness of being the different one. Rather than letting it get him down he channeled all of his creative energy and frustration into his guitar, which he taught himself to play. Writing powerful lyrics and unique melodies was a means of release. By high school Eddies charisma and pleasant nature earned him a strong support group, and he began performing his musical creations at academic and social events. With every new performance his style was refined and his music matured. Eddie began to develop his own unique sound shaped by adversity and perseverance. Presently Eddie lives in Los Angeles, California. His music is characterized by its addictive beat and mellow, upbeat melody. He is currently making his way into the music profession. This is a challenge that he will meet head on.
