Kings of the Space Age (iTunes it!)

About Me

All Asexuals and La Motta releases are now available! -------From the base of Echo Park's hills arrives "Captain Armstrong and the Kings of the Space Age," the latest set of gems from LA MOTTA. Mixed by Evan Frankfort (The Muffs, Sugarcult, Rancid) for an early '06 release, songs like "In The Weeds" feature a driving bass line and floor-tom rhythms, caked with a palette of guitars and delicate-to-definite vocals. The palpable grime of "I Got Cigarettes" lashes out loud and carcinogenic, not unlike the trafficky haze that coats this City of Angels, until something scrubs it clean, like the anthemic "Kings of the Space Age," a classic riff replete with visualized stomped feet, cranked Marshalls, and enough colored gels to paint the entire sonic spectrum a fresh new hue. Still cranking from a European extravaganza, a limited-edition picture-disc 12" vinyl re-release of their 2002 debut LP, and the international rave reviews of 2004's Love California EP, LA MOTTA (guitarist/vocalist Sean Friesen, bassist Alfred Mueller and drummer Wal Rashidi) is set to conquer both stages and stations with a sparkling perspective. Are you ready?
