Fans take one look at Veronica Valencia and say, “You’re a country singer!!â€Just by looking at her, you’d think she was a pop singer, or maybe even a
Mariachi singer...Although she enjoys both of those genres, and can sing them well,
her heart and soul belongs to county music. As she puts it, “My whole life has been a country song, I guess that’s why writing country music comes so
natural to me.â€
Veronica Valencia is one of the first generations from her family to be born in America.
She was born and raised in a small town located in Northern California.
Her desire to perform began at the early age of 7. Creating songs and dance numbers with her younger brother and neighborhood friends; and performing them in front of their family, was a regular form of entertainment. Today, she
plays both saxophone and guitar and produces all of her music. Veronica performs in many venues throughout
northern California which include: charity events, church outreach, and outdoor festivals. Most recently, she
performed at the Legendary club, “Tootsiesâ€, in Nashville. Local artists and fans came up to Veronica and
congratulated her for being able to pull off a rendition of, “I Will Always Love You.â€
“ Let me shake your hand, it took a lot of guts to sing here at this club, and sing a big song like that...you’re the first to pull it off.â€( Nashville, TN)
Throughout Veronica’s life, she has been faced with many challenges, but music has helped her pass the time during those rough paths. When Veronica became a mother during her early teens, she began writing to deal with complex
emotions of what was ultimately a rediscovery of herself and her music. The songs poured out and she chronicled her broken heart, her struggle of being a single mother, and her faith. The outcome of her music has hit the deepest levels of emotion for many people that
can relate. Through her music she has had an opportunity to reach out to many young women, giving them a small testimony through her songs. Now, she’s in the process of recording some of them, so that she can
have a bigger impact!
“Your music is very touching; it’s real, and hits right at home.†(MySpace fan)
Veronica has earned some major achievements with her music. She was recognized at the 30th annual
GMA Music in the Rockies event in Estes Park, Colorado. Here, she caught the ears of publishers. Out of 2,500 submissions, they chose one of her original songs as a spotlight into the finals. In 2006, Veronica was a Regional
finalist for USA Network’s “Nashville Star.†You can find Veronica Valencia’s most current accomplishment
on New Country Star’s Online Magazine, where she won a poll for, “Favorite Female Vocalist.â€
